I just watched Anthony Davis drop 32/9 in 25mins through 3 quarters.. His plus minis was +20.. But the Pelicans management is still in their feelings so they don’t allow him to play the 4th quarter.. Dumb shite like that will be the reason that continues to be a losing franchise

The guy who dove 100 miles because Derek Fisher was fricking his ex wife is lecturing about getting caught in their feelings....

I wish we could keep him the rest of his career and never let him play in the fourth quarter ever again.

AD is really making it hard for me to not drop the last bit of respect I had for him.

Such a pretentious prick way to respond to people upset with your selfish behavior. At the end of the day he has his mansion in LA because of these fans, the least he could do is a be a little bit sympathetic to the frustrations...But this is the sort of adversity and moment that really lets us know who AD really is all along.

I totally agree. He's an idiot.

Problem is, the players around the league are gonna feel this way too.

We're the bad guy to them. Not the guy who nuked our franchise a week before the trade deadline.

I feel like the longer it goes on, the more perception is gonna turn against us for denying Davis his chance to play. He's gonna be a "victim" to a lot of people very soon. I'm sure of it.

Also, attendance tonight was 17,000 (99% of capacity). I know it's paid but whatever. Not exactly a "half empty arena", JVG

Gentry used "it's his first game back" as partial rationale for AD's 25 minute limit tonight. So, his minutes could go up in future games. But Gentry did also say he won't be playing any 40 minute games either.

honestly... the best way AD can screw the Pelicans on his way out the door is play to the best of his ability and help the Pelicans win games they should lose and sabotage NOP's chances at winning the lottery

Memphis, Orlando and OKC are next. I can see them winning all 3 of those.

We aren't attracting any major free agents any time soon, so it's not worth worrying over IMO.

This team is going to build through the draft by necessity and those players are going to be here for 5-8 years. Jrue is bought in and on contract for several himself(and we will probably do right by him if we don't progress on a timeline he is comfortable with). And if we get Tatum he is going to be here through his next contract. Once we find our core most likely our next big move will be through trade, like Boston, Philly and the like have shown the roadmap on.

Memories fade, recency bias crowds out the old, all the Pelicans need to worry about is getting the post-AD era right, which admittedly may not happen with this regime, but if it does the rest will work itself out from there. Which includes showing the next star we have what mutual respect gets you, and what we are willing to do for the players we do get in the future.

Let’s not try to spin it any other way. Attendance is pretty pathetic. It looked bad on National television

I thought the biggest reason we didn't make the trade is b/c everyone (Dell included) knows they're on the way out and the AD deal is for the next administration to make

No, it was because the 2 potentially best offers in New York and Boston weren’t available yet.
