Magic Johnson levels of insight

Everyone knows this is Lonzo's major strength

Stan was asked how he viewed analytics and he said he's already been harassing Michael Hartman, the new analytics person the Pels hired, and he plans to wear him out

That's not the only thing he said and he's given a pretty detailed breakdown of Lonzo before Zach Lowe's podcast. Basically a player with a hybrid role, PG in transition but an off ball player in the half court.

Then he obviously has no faith in Lonzo developing lead guard abilities in the half court

Almost like he wants to play to the players strengths lol. Crazy! He hasn't coached a game yet and I don't remember Gentrys introduction but listening to Stan is a breath of fresh air

He specificaly mentioned Lonzo's IQ and that smart players generally just figure it out. He expects his development arc to be significant over the next several years. It sounded like Lonzo is part of the future.

NOTE: Almost no talk of Jrue.

I don't think that's what he said either. He said he expects Lonzo to get a lot better over the next several years. I was surprised at how strongly and positively he seems to feel about Lonzo.

Or send Lonzo to Atlanta for #6 and take Hayes, someone who already knows how to run the pick and roll and is very crafty in the half court. All the things we'll be waiting and hoping Lonzo develops

But it's worth considering

Let’s see what Stan does with Ball first. It’s probably too early to say what’s best for Ball when SVG has yet to work him into his offense.

Worth considering for us, not the hawks.

If I am reading the tea leaves from that presser, Zo is staying and Jrue is gone. That doesn't mean Zo is running the offense in the half court as they may draft or trade for a guard, but it sounds like he will be around for a bit.

Maybe Stan is pumping up the value, but as I said, I was surprised at how highly he was talking about him. Also, like NOFOX said, no mentions of Jrue. He also did not mention Favors when he was describing the types of bigs you need and it would have made sense to say Favors name just like he dropped Jaxon's name. Although Favors is a FA so technically he may not be allowed to talk about him.

He did mention Jrue once when talking about Lonzo playing off ball as a spacer and Jrue taking over at point

Jrue's made it clear he doesn't want to play point full time. Get the feeling that his time here is pretty coming to an end soon anyway so what the hell

Any mention of Ingram with point duties?
