I just don't understand why it is so hard lol. I know it can be difficult adjusting to the speed and certain schemes, but when it comes just not watching the effing ball and sticking to your man, I mean come on. Also when someone drives to the basket we don't have to have 2 other guys crashing from the perimeter every time to leave wide open 3's. I just don't get it

Not sure I'm following this comparison as Phoenix started last season 11-20.

kind of weird how that 11-20 start coincides with Ayton missing the first 32 games. They went 22-19 after he returned, which isnt' bad for a team that was almost all under 25 outside of Rubio and Baynes.

Good call, I always forget about that time Ayton missed.

It's about that cliched "the game slows down." Zach Lowe talked about this in regards to Myles Turner's development once. Turner told him that during his rookie season he was just flat out guessing at his reads and what he was supposed to do in P&R coverage. It wasn't until during his second season that the game slowed down enough that it became an instinct instead of a guess.

That makes sense but at what point do you just stop leaving dudes wide open lol. I would rather a guy make a single player contested close range shot than a guy have an opportunity for a wide open 3. If that makes sense.

Look at the clips of what Zion is doing, he is ball watching hard most of the time on the missed and late rotations. He's not doing it because he's a moron, he's doing it because he's checking "do I need to help? do I need to help? do I need to help?" and loses track of his man in the process.

Sindarius Thornwell commented on the defense last week saying right now they're helping a lot on drives when they don't need to. They'll eventually get to the point where they'll know their teammates well enough to know if they've been beaten and need help or not. So what Thornwell is saying is a big responsibility of the defense is checking to see if you need to help, and that appears to be what Zion is getting stuck on. In time he should get enough experience and coaching that he'll have a better balance between checking to help and checking his own man.

What's he going to do, bench him and put in Kira? That's some crazy talk right there.

I feel BI and Zion are turning it over because they are trying to make things happen.

Shaq calls them the others.

BI, Zion, and Adams have been awesome this year. The others have sucked as a group.

This is a bad take by Stan unless he is trying some Jedi mind tricks on the others on the team. If he can find others that can not turn the ball over and make wide open 3s I wish he would.

I think the defense would be a non issue if the others would make open 3s and not turn the ball over.
