Why stop at Deng & Noah?
Make it a 3-team deal and get OKC to throw in Durant.

I heard we will just run a 4 man lineup. Just a rumor.

Luol Deng and Joakim Noah for EG10 straight up.
Maybe if they both tore both of their ACLS. We'd be so damn stacked though

Still think Gordon is gone, and the freed up space will allow us to sign some cheap-ish bodies at 3 and 5.

Gordon for Gortat? They get their cornerstone and we shed salary and fill a need

Cant you use the MLE to sign a guy if you are over the soft cap?
When you use Cap Space, the MLE you get is smaller. In this case, $2,652,000.

We are signing the homosexual to start at center. Deal with it.

Gordon to the Bulls for Deng is the most obvious move now.

It's even more possible and plausible, yes.

Putting that aside, any free agents at center that seem likely? Pretty slim pickings if they go that route. Assuming Dwight Howard doesn't go insane and decide to take his talents to the South... Shore.

Who could you see us going after as far as a serviceable center and decent SF?
Hansbrough
Delfino
Thoughts?

If they don't move EG10, I think they should (and will) call it an offseason. This team is transitioning from "building a contender" to "being a contender" -- there's still a year or two's leeway to get the remaining pieces. I think the worst thing the Pelicans could do right now is to go out and force a big signing that comes back to haunt them when the talent's just not there.
I'd expect either:
(a) moving EG10 for a good center or small forward, starting Evans in his place, and picking up a filler guard and center, or
(b) not moving EG10 and picking up a filler forward and center.

I doubt we'll see any signings that don't fit in with a future plan just for the sake of competition. I believe both Holiday and Evans are only 23. Deng is older at 28 but you have to have some veteran players. Byron Mullens is a popular young option at center but a couple of teams including the Lakers are reportedly interested.
