boogie injury pushed AD to full throttle. This team is ROLLING.

They are a helluva front court tandem but they cant both run at 100% peak performance together - they aren't perfectly complementing players in today's NBA.

Boogie would be eligible to be traded from some point a couple months into next season. Is there a wing or superstar guard out there who we could get for him that could complement AD perfectly?

eta - Kawhi if he doesn't want to re-sign with SA? Bradley Beal and another solid player from the Wizards?

Boogie is the best player we will get, he is part of the core, and AD wants him here.

Can we do that? I don't know if that's possible. Again, they aren't complementary players to wear they both can go at 100%. They need touches, etc.

I'd consider swapping Boogie for Beal and someone else from Washington.

If I was convinced Davis would stay healthy I would move on from Cousins
This team looks more in sync without Cousins

This team was 8-3 with wins against the rockets and the Celtics before the boogie injury. With boogie, we probably are sitting at 3 with a game cushion.

cousins has to play within the flow of the offense and stop jacking up shots. We've been better with the roles players scoring his points. If we can keep that balance and he and AD decide whose night it is any given night, it will be really tough to beat us.

But we have to keep moving the ball and keep the role players involved. I don't want to see Boogie bring the ball up the court every possession. It definitely can't hurt having him back.

The beginning of this turnaround was with Boogie. We lose him, we will lose AD

The bigggest frustration with Boogie was him not fully buying into the game plan and doing his own thing (so much iso), not always giving 100% effort, and playing too out of control (i.e jacking up a ton of shots and committing a lot of TOs).

About 15 games before his injury, he was starting to buy in and all of the above began to improve. With that we saw a much better and balanced team.

While I hate the Boogie injury, I think it has forced AD to take a more active role in being ‘the guy’ which I think was that missing piece to his game.

I think it will be interesting to see how AD adjusts his ‘Westbrook mentality’ when Boogie re-enters the lineup. Same with Niko. As a volume guy, I wonder how he and Boogie will be on the floor together.

Either way I’d much rather ride or die with Boogie because as crazy as it sounds, him and Rondo have changed the culture of this team

Rondo...

Let Rondo make those decisions for them.

I don't get the we are playing better without Boogie narrative. We are closing out some close games and that is great. We have a 9 game win streak because of it, but we were 8-1 over Boogie's last nine games with a win over HOU. In the 15 games since the Boogie inury we are 10-5, in the 15 games prior to the Boogie injury we were 10-5.

Everyone is drooling over AD and rightfully so, but the only thing that has really changed pre and post Boogie injury is that his usage, minutes, and rebounding have spiked. They were dominating before Boogie went down and AD/Jrue are continuing that now.

Once Boogie resigns, things get easier. Having this win streak and hopefully some playoff experience combined with no threat of Boogie walking enables them to get rid of the kids' gloves in getting him to play smarter. He was already heading down that path when he went down.
