Because they have by far the least to offer

Full disclosure, I assumed he meant it from AD's perspective. As in, of those three the Clippers would be his preferred destination.

But depending on your thoughts on SGA I could see why someone would prefer a Clippers trade.

Lolwat

They may have the 2nd best package after the Celtics. The Lakers have the 3rd or 4th depending how you feel about the Knicks.

Nets last imo.

I like CJ and Simons. I’m OK with Mo Harkless. The rest of that trade looks like the drizzling shits.

I’d rather their current year pick be immediately conveyed plus they trading 2020 and 2022 to start with, which is legal as long as the trade is announced after they pick in the 2019 draft.

Don't be an arrogant count. I as a pelicans fan would prefer the lakers and knicks package over the clips. The Lakers is way better, the knicks is pretty close. I rather Ingram than anyone in any of the other packages aside for the C's. It is a very nice bonus to get the #4 pick, as well as Kuzma and Ball. I also would take Barrett over anyone the clips have to offer. I get that every on here wants to suck off SGA, I just would rather a star wing player over a PG everyday. If the trade with the clips happens I won't be upset, I just feel like it is currently the 4th or 5th best option.

I'm just asking the question because it doesn't come across that way.

The Lakers is way better

That's certainly an opinion. I think it is a very, very wrong opinion. But you're entitled to it. I think you are either a Lakers fan pretending or you have bought into the media and their constant dump on anyone that isn't a Lakers asset.

Ingram is an extremely flawed player with a massive injury and one year left on his contract. Yes, he has shown flashes and outside of Tatum is one of the players with the most potential, but the contract and injury situation and lack of range makes me question it.

Kuzma and Ball make no sense for this roster either. Ball cannot stay healthy, can't shoot, and is a liability at the end of games. Kuzma has a hip condition that needs to be monitored, is strictly an offensive player with no defensive game whatsoever, and plays the same role as Zion. And there have been rumblings out of both players camps that they wouldn't want to be here.

You can't just look at the overall packages in a vacuum.

The Clippers package depends more on if you can send their guys other places. Gallinari would be a massive get for a lot of teams. For example, he would fit in Indy next to Myles Turner way better than Sabonis does. Without wasting a second to look at matchable money, if the heart of a deal included SGA, Shammet, Sabonis and picks, that is better than the Knicks deal. Of course I also think SGA is hands down better than Barrett, but you don’t have to agree with me there.

Try to look at these deals as assets, and not positions and age, fit etc.

I mentioned this in another thread. Barrett is not a super athletic guy. He lead the NCAA in offensive fouls. One of his go to moves is to push off with his off hand. The reason for that is because he can’t create separation to get his shot off. That does not IMO project well into the NBA.

SGA on the other hand has shown us some of the things he may be capable of in the NBA. So we have much more to rely on. And while Barrett may be a guy that limits you at his position(if he can’t hit the outside shot), SGA is a super sized PG that makes a team even more flexible in what they can do.

I additionally like the idea of a team built around a big having a PG that can get him the ball. Let’s be clear, whatever center piece we acquire will be linked to Zion for most of a decade we hope.
