Aight answer this question. Who is this 7th ranked defense stopping in the playoffs. Better yet, who have they stopped worth a frick in the last....idk 20 games.

I'm much more worried about our offense in the playoffs right now.

Is the Clippers a worth a frick team to you?

They score 118 ppg. We held them to 106 and we called the dogs off with 3 mins to go.

Don't make me give you more reasons why your take is so overreactionary.

We were 6th in defense last season and are 7th now. So I don't think that statement can be true considering.

Point taken...but I also agree we have quite a bit of defensive "trash" in our starting lineup. Just so happens we have one excellent defender who is capable of "covering" for a whole bunch of "trash". (And also HAD Dyson coming off the bench...who was pretty good at "covering" also)

I can't imagine what our defense would look like...if we lost Herb for any length of time...especially with DD gone. It would get ugly...in a hurry.

Not sure how to find 20, but we're 11th in defense over the last 15 games, which is fine

12th in offense.

A clippers team playing a 3rd game in 4 nights and were tired as frick? Nah bruh. Context matters. Im not letting you get away with shite like that.

You guys gotta help me with the logic here.

The starters minus Herb are all "TRASH" on defense.

Jonas and Zion are helped by the fact that there a very few really good offensive big men in the league. And Herb Jones and Dyson Daniels are criminally underrated defenders.

Yea, the problem is we are 100% a good defense, but we sacrifice offense to get there.

It's a problem with the players too. We have players who can excel at 1 or the other, but not so much balanced players who can do both.

So we play Dyson, have a good defense but sacrifice offense. Or we play Hawkins and have a good offense but sacrifice defense.

But ultimately this is an offensive league, you have to score points. And some nights, even with dudes like Herb and Dyson, teams will score 87 on you, Devin Bookers will score 50+ on you. On those nights, a Dyson or even Herb's defense is essentially useless and you need to simply outscore your opponent. But we don't make those in game adjustments nearly enough.

Lol like we weren't in the middle of a long road stretch with a random home game before. Pels and Clippers arrived in Los Angeles within hours of each other. They got to sleep in their beds. They were at home. And they got their asses kicked. 2-0 in that arena this year too.

You say this but ignore the context of the ENTIRE SEASON where we've been good at defense.

The Clippers must still be tired because they've been down in scoring since our game.

Give me a second to get these scored from the all the games this season vs teams you would see in the playoffs vs trash teams.

You would have to do that for all teams to get the right context.

I'm certain the Pels defense is better against bad teams and worse against good teams. I'm also certain this is the case for all good teams.

I have no idea how he thinks we're some stiffs on defense at this point.

Hell, I think most people's main issue is we focus too much on defense. So it's not that our D is bad, it's the lengths we go to have a good defense really hurts our offense.

And shite, this team could actually be better imo if we got worse at defense. Yes, that's just a sensational way of wording it but I think we're better if we sacrifice a some of that defense to get better offensively.

You mean if we don't run lineups with two non shooters our offense will outweigh the defensive issues?

That's crazy talk shel!

6 minute mark - Trey checks in for Zion

I die inside a little every time that happens twice every game.

I watched the Lakers score 139 and 133 against these dudes. They didnt give a damn about your 7th ranked defense. Pheonix didnt either. Milwaukee didnt when they put up 141. Or Denver when they put up 125 and 134. Or Boston when they put up 118. Or Dallas when they scored 136. These arent random occurces. Or trash Portland and Memphis teams you can bump up numbers on defensively because they have NOBODIES trying to score. And Herb cant guard everybody.

I guess what im trying to say to you gentlemen is. Defense really dont mean shite in todays NBA. Its an offensive arms race. And the Pels are out here trying to defensive bunker in. You got offensive dynamos (Hawkins included).
