Responses from bigdogg and Soggy prove that some fans still don't understand why losing this trade hurts us so much.

Small markets CAN NOT let assets walk out door for nothing. Even if we had ZERO interest in bringing Lonzo back, you absolutely must maximize his value. You can argue his talent and fit all you want and make sound arguments on both side, but what you can't argue is that Lonzo is still a valued player and asset in this league and we got a whole lotta nothing for him, especially when you consider what Cleveland gave up for Lauri and what we gave up for Graham.

Lonzo getting paid more than both, and some are using that as a reason why our compensation was less. That's not how it works.

I loved our draft and the JV acquisition, but that Lonzo trade was bad anyway you spin it.

I understand the optics, and all the propaganda surrounding the Pelicans’ off-season moves. We had a better off-season than most are willing to admit to.

Lonzo coming back to New Orleans wasn’t in the cards. We thank him for his services and sent him to a team he desired to play for. Thus creating positive business relationships in the future.

In my heart of hearts I believe us sending out the FRP was a strategic play with respect to the future. I don’t expect us to be a lottery team next year, and I definitely don’t want us to or foresee us still be needing talent from the draft to improve our chances of winning.

I think we make a big move at the deadline with space we created during this off-season. Like, a big, big move…… Is it a Dame Time in New Orleans

They had no leverage thanks to Rich Paul poisoning the well for us.

What? We had all the leverage. Did you not see what Chicago just did to Lauri? They were patient and waited it out for a desperate team and got value for him. Griff should be in the business of winning not trying to please rich Paul and stick his arse in the air for him.

Who cares if Lonzo and Paul get pissed. It’s happened so many times that rfa want to leave and their original team match the offer. It’s business. Griff shoulda bluffed them or make them way overpay screwing up the rest of their off-season plans. Like I said we had all the leverage here not Lonzo, not Rich Paul, not the bulls, and Griff blew it.
