So can someone who understands advanced metrics more than I explain this:

Jrue holiday: -3
Etwan Moore: +10
Darius Miller: +6

I’m guessing that Darius has an inflated plus/minus because he was in for a big run and out when the Celtics closed the gap?

I still don’t understand why Jrue’s is so low.

Idk but Jrue had a huge 3 late in the 4th, and of course his shot over Kyrie.

Box plus minus is not an advanced metric.

That’s why I hate these kinds of stats. E’twaun did not have a good game tonight, and Miller was off as well. Jrue played a great game. Those stats are meaningless.

Jrue probably played his best game of the season. Hit the big 3 to tie it up, hit several jumpers off pick and rolls with AD late in the game, played tremendous defense on Kyrie, so much so that they didn't even give Kyrie the ball a few possessions late b/c Jrue was shutting him down.
Dude was ballin last night.

I wouldn't read much into this for a single game. It's close enough to zero to not draw much of a conclusion. Earlier this year, Durant was -8 against us in a 10 point Warriors victory. In the same game, Jrue was +1 and Boogie was -32. Huge +/- like that Boogie -32 are symptomatic. A trend may also be symptomatic. One game? Don't worry about it

It’s not that I am worried about it. I was just curious as to how exactly those numbers came to be is all.

I believe that kind of depends on how you define an advanced metric, no?

Box plus/minus was at one time called advanced statistical plus/minus after all. It’s definitely not a metric as simple as say field goal percentage.
