I mean “I want us playing a free style of basketball” was my first red flag.
This is not a squad that needs to just be cutting loose.
Ultra young, for many, 3-4 coaches in 4 years. That’s not exactly the sort of team you just tell to have fun out there.
I hope I’m wrong, but I am not seeing this magical season many wanted to sell this team on having

Man, I don’t know. When you look back at all the preseason games we won in years past, we weren’t that great. We won a lot of those games late when teams didn’t have their best players in.
Doesn’t matter if it’s starters or backups this year. We look like unmitigated trash. Can’t pass, can’t shoot, no semblance of any system, players that should be contributing are playing super poorly, tons of turnovers, awful starts, continuing to start Temple.
This is definitely a splash of cold water. I’m going stay tempered a bit because it IS preseason.

I understand the starters weren't playing great either, but do you see the lineup in right now? Sato Temple Herb Naji JV against Conley Donovan Bogdan Royce Rudy
A reminder that our so called “depth” looks a bit different when it’s not just on paper but having to play against real NBA talent.
Other than JV, I’m not sure any of those guys are players I think should be in a playoff rotation. And while Murphy has done little things, I think he’s showing why he’s a rookie still. Graham continues to be a huge disappointment so far.
IDK, I’m not feeling good about the early season.

JV, Murphy and Herb are literally the only positives from preseason
NAW had one bad game and 2 really good ones, and he isnt playing bad tonight. Plus Kira has looked better than he has in the past at least. Other than that, yes everyone trash
Also are they sending some sort of message? They care more about playing a 12 year veteran than starting someone who theoretically may ACTUALLY start this year in NAW? Just confusing

I feel good about Graham, he’s a little hesitant about when to be aggressive knowing he’s going to play off Zion, BI and Val but his passing has been really good

I mean he has zero assists in the night…
That said, this has been his best game. Still skeptical though

I personally think Murphy's played the best perimeter defense on the team and obviously doesn't miss when he's open. He's been the least of our worries, imo.
My biggest issue is we have no PG and 2 or 3 good shooters on the entire roster.
Been a joke how much we've failed to add shooting year after year. You watch last year's playoffs and there are 40% shooters not even in the rotation, they're so stacked. Griffin gave a multi year deal to Temple...

Temple continuing to start is really my first SVG type moment with Willie.
It’s like he’s starting himself and refusing to admit the “gritty journeyman guard” ain’t it.

Jazz starters have also played a lot today. Kind of unexpected

Assists a procduct of being short handed. Has a nice little pocket pass game that will be nice with Zion

Every team we play can pass the ball around the halfcourt and at least 4 of those guys can pull a 3.
We're moving the ball between a bunch of guys that don't threaten the defense at all.

Graham can shoot
GSW just waived Langston Galloway. He'd be one of the 2 or 3 best shooters on this team.
Galloway and Etwaun Moore couldn't even get off the bench for Phoenix last year. They'd be considered snipers on this roster.

I also have a theory that Naji fake hustles. He hustles for loose balls and stuff but he really is lazy in halfcourt defense

All accounts that post NAW in the summers looking like 93' Jordan vs air and middle schoolers are getting blocked.

Hernangomez is so bad on both sides of the ball

Definitely shades of the same problem rearing its ugly head of NAW being wildly inconsistent.
I did warn people should take some caution with making such grand proclamations based on a 15ish game sample size as a starter across two seasons.
