Because Christian Koloko missed the 23-24 season due to a blood clot despite being on NBA contract, I’d think Koloko has one more year of two-way eligibility through the Harry Giles rule. Giles rule gives players an extra year of two-way eligibility if they were injured during their 4 year NBA term for an entire season. Pelicans have one more two-way contract spot open. Kobe Bufkin will also be competing for that two-way spot.
If this has exhibit 10 language, Squadron will need to trade the Austin Spurs for Koloko’s returning rights.
With the Laketown Squadron now closer to New Orleans, this gives the Pelicans a closer opportunity to evaluate players and assign their draft picks to the G League.
