Gives you their rights so that they can play in the G-League for you without fear of another team grabbing them.

I'm pretty sure the only players on your GLeague team that you have any real rights to are on your roster either with a regular contract like rookies, or your 2 way players. What they probably signed was an Exhibit 10 contract which usually gives them a $50,000 bonus/incentive if they do sign with your GLeague team.
