Today is Media Day. 11am to 3pm.

Post your tweets and whatnot here.

Its gonna be interesting to see how Griffin interacts with the media, the tension when Zion is talking with them because I imagine there are going to be some uncomfortable questions.

We will see.

David Griffin gives more detail on Zion Williamson's fractured right foot: It was the 5th metacarpal bone, and according to evaluations yesterday, it's not likely Z will appear in preseason games. (There are 9 days between the last preseason game and start of regular season.)

Yeah Im very curious how this one goes.

Fist time in the Griffin era the media writ large seems to be taking an adversarial posture toward Griffin, and a bit toward Zion. And honestly probably the most contentious I've seen in some time generally.

Curious if it translates over because I feel like even when some of the local reporters are critical in the press they hold back during stuff like this.

Local press generally is like that, but guys like Christian Clark (who might get some serious cold shoulder from Griffin) or Scott Kushner may not hold back too much.

And the national press certainly will not, and you have to imagine they smell blood in the water and will be here.

And I think that probably drives the niceties a bit(at least with the local guys), that and a lot of our press are bloggers/fans themselves and want the team to succeed as much as we do, so I do wonder if tongues will be bitten still...At least from our local guys

Could definitely see Andrew Lopez or the national guys throw the grenades though, as you said...And that might be for the best

I'm more curious to see how Zion reacts, than Griff. We know Griff is just going to bullshite his way out of any tough questions.

ETA: what the frick, Zion recovering from foot surgery...

Does that needs its own thread????

David Griffin says that Zion is returning from a foot surgery he sustained early in the summer. A fractured right foot -- says the timeline to return is hopefully before the season starts.

Guess that makes a bit of sense as to why Zion hasn't been working out with the team.

Griffin says the team doctor was part of the surgery process for Zion Williamson

Griff says Zion was working out prior to summer league and suffered the injury then.

Says head strength and conditioning coach Stan Williams has been with Zion throughout the summer and his recovery was "in lockstep" with the team.

I'd say so considering how much discussion has been rampant this offseason about why Zion wasn't showing up to things like voluntary player organized workouts and random events with coaches/Langdon/BI etc...And because it's kind of big news

I edited the title of the media thread so people see it but that doesn't preclude someone from starting a thread if they want.

Can't wait for all those media folks to talk and tweet out their apologies.

Zion is a unicorn/ magician. For someone that is so popular. You never see or hear anything from him the entire offseason
