Owning a GLeague team doesn't give you a place to stash a bunch of 2nd round picks

I see a lot of outrage over only using 1 of 4 2nd round picks with people thinking we could have just stashed them all on the Pels new GLeague team. That's not how the GLeague works. The Pels only have rights to the 15 players on their main roster and 2 2-Way contracts. Every other player on your GLeague team is just on the GLeague team. The Pels have no special rights to them and they can be signed away by other teams willing to give them a regular contract or 2 Way contract.
So you can't just draft a bunch of 2nd rounders and "assign" them to your GLeague team because the Pels don't have enough roster spots to do that. The GLeague is a lot more like the NFL Practice Squad than a farm team.

I was more outraged because of wanting to try out 4 guys and hoping to hit one that can make the roster in the second.
But it seems like they are confident in Herb abilities and we are going to pick up role players through FA.

I think some people think this is like the nfl and you can bring all your draft picks into training camp before roster cut-downs.

Serious question. Can you not send more than your 2 way players down to the g league and just have a shorter bench? Anytime 13 players actually play in a game it’s a slaughtering one way or the other.

You can send as many players on your roster as you want to your G-league team. You cannot sign a bunch of guys to the G-league team and just bring them up and down as you want though, you only have rights to the players that's on your main roster.

Would have liked to have kept Boston on a 2-way just to see if he can reach some of the huge potential he had coming into college.
