I do like the brass and te pelicans the rest are to arena football league sounding

I haven't like too many of the names mentioned. The Angels and Spirit sound like WNBA team names. The others sound like D-league or Arena League names. The Dukes or Deacons aren't bad. At least they sound mature. Honestly, I wouldn't mind if we just kept the Hornets and changed our color scheme and completely lost the old logo and accept the the fluer de lis hornet as the official logo.

Now with Davis, we don't even need a rebrand anymore. Keep Hornets and the Fleur de Bee! That alone makes it local.

I would like brass or pelican or go a route that has something to do with Jean lafitte like treasure or something would prefer to stay away from privateer in my opinion

The Spirit is really growing on me. The spirit of our city with all the diverse people, food, traditions. There is no name better to represent our franchise and our city! The Spirit of New Orleans!

Believe it or not . . . I don't hate the Spirit. I might be able to get behind it. Or the Brass. Maybe even the Pelicans, but I'm not as sure about that.
If they keep the Hornets, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. But I'm pretty sure they're going through with re-naming.

I'm not reading 30 pages of posts to see if this was discussed, but there is a potential obstacle with Spirit: the ABA's Spirits mentioned above.
The short of it is that the owners of that defunct team still collect TV money from the Spurs, Nuggests, Pacers, and Nets. These 4 teams net less TV money than the other 26 as a result.
If the Spirits exist as more than just a P.O. Box, those brothers that own the `team' could block a Spirit name.
