Saw an interesting trade regarding butler to Cleveland. It was a three team trade involving Phoenix. Phoenix has "apparent" interest in Kevin Love and Chicago has indicated that they want to move up in the draft to get Josh Jackson.
Cle: Jimmy Butler
Pho: Kevin love and Chicago's 16th?
Chi: Phoenix's 4th and something to even salaries.

Source tells SN @HoustonRockets are actively shopping Patrick Beverley ahead of the draft. He'd welcome a trade.

I wonder why he wants out, is the back court too crowded with Lou Williams now?

Just spitballing but they could be doing it to create cap space for a bigger star? He's going into his third year on a $25 million contract. He also indicated he was open to being traded. But like you said, their backcourt is crowded and is more fast paced/ offense focused than his defensive grind mentality.

I'd assume they'd want to start Harden and Gordon with Williams off the bench next year. He's their best wing defender though, so it's strange.

I would gladly welcome him here despite his injury history. At 28 and on a good contract, he would be perfect for us.

Just imagine if Demps had traded Ryno for a late 1st, even if it was a 2018. That plus absorbing Beverly might be all it would take to get a reasonable replacement to Jrue the 3 and D guard on a much better contract.

Don't know what we could give up for him though.

Yeah, but that requires forethought and admitting to sunk costs...

I read an article talking about this exact thing. If the Lakers have another 55+ loss season, George may decide he's not totally ready for a rebuild and move on. Claimed they would be better off not geting him this offseason.
Best part is if they didn't have those awful Deng/Mozgov deals, they would be sitting pretty. They would have all sorts of room and assets to build a team around George immediately. It almost makes you wonder if Kupchak/Jim Buss had an inkling they would be ousted and those deals were made out of spite.

Super fun scenario is Butler and Hayward get to Boston, PG goes to the Lakers, Chris Paul goes to the Spurs - LeBron freaks out and demands a trade - Chaos reigns supreme.

Gonna be Cleveland and will involve a third team. Edit: Not factual, just my opinion.

I just don't see how Cleveland has the assets. I mean all they have is Kevin Love, but what team who has the assets to get Butler would trade them for Love instead of just trading them for Butler?

I thought the new TV money might make Sarver less cheap, but in the old economy he was a playoffs or bust level cheap owner like Shinn and the old Bucks.
If they're thinking playoffs, between Bledsoe and Booker it could be argued that you really need a 3 and D SF more than a stud SF. They don't have much NBA ready talent in the front court so Love makes them a playoff team more than Butler?

That's interesting. Wonder if they will look to trade Lin now or use Russell off ball.

Wow, why would the Lakers give up Russell for that?
