Looking back at the draft would you draft Kessler over daniels

Kessler was drafted in the 20’s, he wasn’t even thought of as a lottery pick. In hindsight the only one you could say would be Duran as he was thought to go in the back half of the lottery.

To answer your question though, no I still take Dyson, the upside Dyson has is far more important to us for years to come, we just have to try to get his ankles right to stop the sprains so much, alot like Curry early in his career.

currys regime was on YouTube. exercises and stretches.

there are so many good players.
the pelicans had 3 needs we agreed.
a bigger better guard.
they got one at 8. daniels.
no one complains about the choice. getting close to need at 8 is a grace.
he does well what was expected.
hes a tad better offensively than advertised. i was totally uninterested because not much shooting.
people who cant shoot at age 18 are not picked by me.
see also doofus hayes.

an athletic big. nope.

a shooter. not by draft.

Cavs are legit. Rim protector is Duren Williams but we drafted Dyson Daniels. Griff will get the rim protector in this upcoming draft.

ETA: there was lots of Dyson v Duren chatter on this board leading up to the draft. I think Dyson was probably, and I stress probably, the right call, but it’s getting harder and harder to defend that choice. They are both still raw, tho. Time will tell.

There is no rim protector in the draft. Wemby is the only one and that’s obviously not a likely pick.

Dyson is an elite defender, and an above average passer right now. He’s far from raw:

I think we can all agree that we didn't think JV will be this much of a problem defensively.

I think he’s great. Complete black hole on offense, but I think that will come around. Raw is definitely the right word to describe him though. Just like most rookies.

ETA: Re poster above, agree it’s a problem. JV is struggling to protect the paint without Zion in the line-up. Zion is big and fast enough to mask lots of problems down there.

I’m intrigued by Noah Clowney. He’s a legit 6-10 stretch 4 that competes hard and has looked good even compared to Miller at times. He struggled shooting from deep early, but was still effective and has started to knock down more outside shots lately.

Nonetheless, the Pels could really use a seasoned vet.

This is false, he's shooting 33% from 3, but other than that he has a 2.3 assist to turnover ratio, we have a 108 offensive rating with him on the floor despite him not having much time on the floor with our starters.

If he shoots 2-3 percentage points better from 3 he would be the perfect guard pairing with our starters, and he’s not far away from getting that imo.

Ehhh, black hole is a solid reference IMO.

In the last 26 games before Dyson was hurt:

21mpg
3.9ppt
2.5 assists
39.8% FG%
26.8% 3pt%

He's young, so there's not a concern long term. But before the injury he was giving us elite defense and really a pretty large negative offensively IMO

Eh Jalen Duran plays for Detroit. One of the worst teams in the league. He can do whatever he wants there. Dyson has his role as a defender this year and will continue to et better.
