What was this big media push at Zion? The team is in better places when he’s getting playing time. He’s not putting up shite numbers. Did he look gassed against la?

In his 2 tournament games he scored 10 and 13 points. At half time of the kings game Barkley called him out for looking out of shape and dogging it down the floor between possessions. Then a reel was made after the lakers game of a bunch of plays where he gives little to no effort on defense. Combine all this with the fact he visibly looks to be heavier than he was at the beginning of the season, and the fact that his 2 worst games of the year were on national display in the tournament, then you have the media storm
He then responds Monday by dropping a season high 36 points in a win over the league best T wolves Monday night and gave a classy response to the media in the post game.
As pels fans of course we are frustrated with his ability to stay in shape and his rumored eating disorder, but he has so far stayed healthy this season (ankle sprain held him out tonight but it’s said to be minor) and he has been pretty productive in 90% of his games this season which is a hell of a lot better than what we got the last 2 seasons
I’m sticking to my assumption that the team went out on the Vegas strip the night before the lakers game because they ALL looked like shite

Talking heads like Barkley, Stephen A, and Shaq are actually casuals that only watch the games they're forced to watch so they only saw him in the Kings and Lakers in-season tournament games where he played like shite.

Zion played 3 of 4 games where he had 13 points or less.
The team lost minutes Zion was on the court through the 1st 23 games. The team was actually better when Zion was off the court through the 1st 23 games.
Zion for the entire season looks completely out of shape, gets gassed every 3-4 minutes and has consistently given very little effort, especially on defense.
Not sure why some want to pretend everything is going just fine, there's some huge red flags going on with Zion right now that we're hoping gets turned around.

I didn't say he wasn't having problems. I said they don't watch basketball unless it's games they're forced to watch and he had two bad games in front of them so that's why they all came down on him.

quote:Whatever the reason or amount of games they watch and maybe they lucked into it, but Chuck and Shaq's points were spot on.

Thank y’all for the info. Dudes a kid\young man. Him staying healthy and working with your other team lead better than last year is fragile.
What he said was solid, if chuck and Shaq were just cracking on him, then forget them.

He’s a 5 year vet at this point. The criticism was both measured and fair from Charles and Shaq.

One minute you dog on Zion and the next day, you attack people criticizing him.
EVERYONE just wants the guy to get his head on straight and be the next LeBron, Kobe, Shaq generational player.

the national folks saw his titties bouncing for the first time and learned that he doesn’t run back on defense, rotate on defense or generally play defense. They learned that he doesn’t give a shite about rebounding and hasn’t developed a single new facet to his game on offense since junior year in high school…. and were all shocked.
FWIW, you can see that the criticism had an impact. Over 10 rebounds both of the games since and definitely giving 40% more effort on D.
