Loved me some Naji. Glad he's doing alright. At this point in the season I'm pretty much only hoping ex-pels are doing good wherever they are. Minus lemonhead and day to davis obviously.

That’s not even close to the damn point. If a guy whose job is to provide energy, toughness and defense doesn’t do those things, then he can fairly and rightfully be criticized. When he’s criticized for not being a consistently good to great offensive player, when no one with a clue think’s that’s what he is, it’s dumb. Is this that hard for you or are you just trying to be a contrarian.

What is your point?? To be a whiny bitch?

Naji was 4th in priority as a defensive minded player that didn't provide amazing offense. The (3) guys we chose above him were Herb, Dyson, and Jose. We didn't have the money for another defensive player while we got killed on offense.

None of that means that he can't be criticized? I'm not even saying he wasn't great, he just simply wasn't a priority.

Would I probably choose him going forward over Jose/ Hawk on thia team for a few extra mil? Probably. Am I going to act like he's an untouchable player that never made mistakes when he was here? No.

Get over it bro, Naji isn't a hill to die on

Jesus, how hard is this for you to understand? He could and should be criticized if he fails to provide what he is expected to provide, which in Naji’s case was defense, energy and toughness. Criticizing him because he wasn’t a consistent shooter and offensive player is like ordering a $10 steak and criticizing it because it wasn’t as good as a Ruth’s Chris filet. It’s dumb and unrealistic. Seriously, is this that hard for you to understand??

To put into perspective:

All I said was that the Naji you see now is better than Naji 2-3 years ago. I never said what was better or worse about that Naji. Its just an obvious "players mature" and become better.

I also explained why we let Naji go, which was about prioritizing needs.

Seriously it might be hard for me to understand because I never said any of that buddy. I never even criticized Naji in this thread. The only thing I actually said was that he has gotten better and people that criticized him in the past still could have fair opinions based on how he played then.

And then you continued to freak out about him being criticized.

Seriously do you understand why you are coming off as whiny now?

I participated in this thread to say the criticism of Naji on this board last year was ridiculous, because by and large he brought what he was supposed to bring. His inability to bring consistent offense was not something that reasonably should be expected of a role player. Somehow you translated that into me saying he couldn’t be criticized, which of course I never said. I said he should be criticized when he doesn’t do the things he was expected to do. Clearly, you can’t understand that, so I’ll give up now trying to explain it to you.

We didnt have the cash to keep him around
You won't find many bigger pro-Naji guys over trhe years on this board than me...

For everyone who just blindly says "we shouldn't have let him go" you then have to answer the question of who are you getting rid of to keep him...and that comes down to Zion/CJ/Dejounte/Herb basically. So yea, it was just Naji's time to go.

We're not paying the tax, so it is what it is...we couldn't keep him.
