But grant is the much better player. The grizzlies were just lucky they didn't have to attach a pick to get rid of morant.

He has 90 Mil left on his contract and has played like 70 games total the last 3 years.

1- Your proposed trade would not work due to contracts. Grizzlies would have to add more. And for what?

2- Ja’s contract is guaranteed where at least Grant’s contract has a player option. He may take it, but both Grant and Murray’s added up are still less than Ja’s.

3- Like someone else mentioned, Grant is playable. Hawkins and Poole are not.

4- Grant and Murray play a position of need for Grizzlies. Pool and Hawkins do not.
