we're going to have just enough contract liabilities to put us at the likely range of hard cap #s. i doubt we get to grandfather in big deals like teams over the cap, but i guess we shall see about that

he won't, but what does it matter?
situation A: owner A owes $100M, and his franchise is worth $200M with the debt. buyer B pays $300M for the franchise and pays off the debt
situation B: owner A owes $100M and his franchise is worth $200M with the debt. Buyer NBA pays $300M for the franchise and pays off the debt, and sells to buyer B for $300M
how is this any better for buyer B? i'm asking honestly. his bottom line is the exact same
