Big dog we play 72 games this year. So. 36-36 is what you mean. Not being a douche just giving ya a heads up lol.

All I care about this year is that Zion and the rest of the young guys continue to show growth, especially on defense. Don’t really care much about wins or losses. Wins will come eventually. That being said I think we are too talented to be a bottom dweller even while the team is still evolving.?

I really believe we can win 38 to 40 games this year and that should be good enough for the playoffs.

Well you’re gonna be disappointed since we only play 71 games or something like that
I just don’t see us going .500 or over. West is just ridiculously stacked

Going .500 (36-36) and being in the playoff conversation would be awesome for this team.
1) Its a much shorter pre-season which is less time for getting on the same page with the new coaching staff and roster, teams with less turnover and a consistent system will likely start off the season stronger.
2) In the western conference there is only 1 team, OKC, without legitimate eyes on a playoff spot this season. The west will be even more of a grind than usual at the bottom of the conference. Several teams with more than one all-star caliber players (possibly including the Pels) will likely miss the playoffs in the west this season.

If we don’t make playoffs, we can draft in a loaded forward draft. If we make playoffs, great, we get more experience under the players belt. Win/win situation for me.

I think we're battling with the Spurs, Wolves, Kings, and Grizz for the 10th spot.

That’s most likely.
If any of Zion, Ingram, or Ball make the leap we’re hoping for then I can see us fall in the 6-8 range, but that’s obviously best case.

Let’s be honest, we aren’t better than Lakers, Clippers, Nuggets, Jazz ,or Blazers.
Yea, but I just want a team that I believe could go out and have a chance to beat these teams on any given regular season Tuesday.

I thought the Pels looked pretty good with healthy Zion last year, and I'm not sure they even played a regular season game where he was actually in shape. He was starting to play himself into shape before COVID, but he still wasn't Duke Zion or even preseason Zion. Bubble Zion was a joke, and he still won one of those bubble games offensively at the end.
I think people here underestimate him IF he's in shape. If he's still kind of in shape but playing overweight, then yeah maybe 8 seed. If he's fat as all get out, then basically last in the west.
So I'm gonna say 5ish seed if he stays healthy. Sure, there's probably more than 4 teams that are better than us, but there's always injuries to account for. Just hopefully it won't be ours.

I hope you're right, that would put the Pels on a championship aspiration track starting in Zion year 3. But even a strong season without a playoff appearance still puts us on a championship aspiration track Zion year 4 which is still awesome and gives us a 1.5 years to figure out what we have and don't have around Zion and BI and to address that through free agency while building for the future with the draft stash.

Pels will compete with Minny, SAC and Memphis for 9th spot in the Western Conference.
LAL, LAC, Denver, Portland, Utah, Warriors, Dallas and Suns will be playoff teams.
I think Pels need another outside shooter to crack the top eight. Plus it will take time to adjust to SVG.
Watch out for Portland this season.
