Y'all know Mitchell Robinson is out with injury recovery until January at earliest, right? Would be a good on court center upgrade, but he's near RWIII level of chronically injured. Both from New Orleans ironically.

It also would be pretty hard to construct a trade without either BI or CJ going out. None of the other non long term pieces make much money.

I was much more up to date on the old CBA, but I thought the whole point of the min salary exception was that it didn't count, basically, and you could sign them while OTC.

All the regulations flowed from this exception. I don't get how you can pay them more (even $1) and make it work.

The three players they signed were the last three players the Knicks held bird/early bird rights to, so that’s how they got around that. They wouldn’t have been able to sign a FA off the street and include them in the deal.
