Jrue Holiday feels ‘very strongly’ about retiring in 2 years after his contract is up, per @pointforward
I saw this quote on twitter, but I'm not seeing Jrue on any recent episodes of this podcast. Has anyone seen/heard this before? I suppose it could be an older one and this is getting brought up because of the Bucks season ending early.
Our bet on the Bucks picks included Middleton and Jrue being overpaid and old limiting the Bucks options to get Giannis help. If Jrue does retire after 2 more years, the Bucks could have a pretty clean slate to rebuild around Giannis then with just Portis, Connaughton, and Beauchamp on the books then.

They would still need to replace an all-star level player at a non-premium free agent destination. Jrue retiring instead of being on the Bucks would be good for our picks imo

Yeah, on the one hand, Jrue is overpaid, so his retirement would give the Bucks salary flexibility. On the other hand, it's not easy to find players as good as him.
It's kinda how a lot of us feel about CJ.

If Giannis doesn't sign that extension, it could all unravel with all 3 dudes being gone in the next couple of years.
It's also not easy or a guarantee to be able to replace a guy like Jrue as big time free agents aren't going to Milwaukee and I'm not sure how much draft capital they have.
