Says they(Griff/Trajan) are basically a dishonest group and that he basically warns anyone in the future to not trust what Griff and Trajan tell you and that goes beyond the sort of self-interest motives any player should understand with an organization.
JJ Redick is highly respected with his peers. This isn’t a good luck for us at all. If it’s true that they promised him they would cater to him then it’s a bad look. You shouldn’t break promises to someone even if hurts you at the end. Yeah, Redick got paid and kept his contract but they should be transparent with him through out for due diligence.

Responding to responses directed at me in my own thread isn’t melting my man.
Asking someone if they even know what point they are trying to make when they've been clear from the jump is somewhat of a melt my dude.

The real question is if a buyout was offered and for what amount.

His peers are all about to retire in the next 2-3 years. Dude is almost 37 man.

Yep, goes back to a basic axiom, don’t make promises you can’t keep.
Or if we are being generous for Griff, make sure you communicate thoroughly so both party’s understand what is being offered and what expectations should be had.
Maybe this has knockdown effects, maybe it doesn’t, maybe this is a one off thing, maybe this is a pattern of Griff’s.
Can’t really say right now.

Just read that JJ and Hart share the same agents....That can't be good right?

At the end of the day Hart is a restricted free agent.

Won't matter. He's a rfa. They ain't stupid enough to take a QO. He isn't good enough player to play that card.

Based on both responses so far there is no indication negotiations began yet.
Redick insists that it was made clear to him in their meetings one on one and with his agent that option B if they couldn’t get him to the Northeast would be a buy out. That there was no discussed or articulated potential for option C.

He thought that JJ wanted to go to the playoffs, but JJ is acting like he just wants to be near his family. Well, if that was the case he could easily do that. But, what he wants is to make the money that he signed the contract for AND be close to his family. He wants to eat his cake and have it too. It's a laughable argument from his side.
In his own words. They spent the year trying to put him into the NE, when they seemingly didn’t get the strong offers they wanted, he made the assumption based off conversations they had about going to a contender that he would be happy going to Dallas. Griff “felt confident” JJ would be happy with this trade he said.
ETA: I'm sure in past conversations JJ let it be known to Griff that winning was important to him. Hell, that was one of the reasons why he wanted to get traded away in the offseason. He didn't think the team would be as good without Jrue.

JJ is getting drug by a lot of former players.

Can’t imagine it helps things.

Deservingly so. He came off like a little bitch that didn't get what he wanted. That rubs former players who have been in his position the wrong way. He has 2-3 months left. Acting like he's stuck there for years.

Certainly we don’t have an indication as of now, but I would be hard pressed to believe that wasn’t something discussed leading up to the deadline.
If it was and JJ said he would take a big cut to facilitate it, yet we traded him anyway, I think he would have said as much.

So then we are simply circling back to the problem of communication. Which still gets us to the same place.
This was clearly not articulated to or expressed to Redick, and what Redick and his agent had articulated to him was a different set of expectations. And Griff drew improper assumptions about his employee and made a decision based off that.
Still gets us to Griff allowing incorrect expectations to be set to his employee and taking an action that will be interpreted as breaking those promises.
Both situations are problematic in different ways.

Agreed. Griff should have told Redick if he would be fine going to Dallas. Not just out of no where he found out he be traded there. Gruff should have communicate with Redick throughout. Saying, hey we have an offer for you and it helped out both of us. Not find out through social media that this happened.
Redick kept his word going to camp and trying to play. He told Griff it wouldn’t workout and it would be okay to get traded. Griff on the other hand didnt kept his word.
I know it’s a business and all, but when your boss tells you something then gl behind your back. It’s not a good look

Hart needs to make the best business decision for him. He would be stupid to base his decisions on what the situation with JJ.

To the exact teams he wanted to get traded to, who didn't want to trade for him because he played like crap most of the year and stated he only wanted to go there so he messed up his trade market.
