What was the point of bringing in JB if all Willie is going to do is ignore him?

We don't really know what Willie is or isn't taking from Borrego.

Willie ball still very prominent. So probably not very much right now.

I know Borrego would run out a lineup of

JV
Zion
Trey
Hawk
CJ

The game he coached:

38 3 attempts.

For those with league pass you can rewatch this game:

Apparently, nothing because We saw what this team looked like when Willie was out sick or whatever.

Agreed watch that dallas or hornets games, those were Borrego offenses. What we’re seeing now is what we’ve seen the last 2 years- typical Willie ball.

The sets were no different the game he coached. The idea that some folks think we learned an entire new offense, ran it 1 game, then never ran it again is silly. We ran the same offense.

Also, Hawkins played a ton of minutes with WIllie coaching as well.

Again, we don't know what Willie has or hasn't taken from Borrego.

From the Game:

OUT: CJ / TM3 / LN / EJ

Starters:

Dyson
Herb
BI
Zion
JV

- Point Zion ran almost out of the gate.
- Because of first note Zion EXTREMELY active on the -defensive end.
- First sub was... Jordan Hawkins for Dyson. This is probably TM3 now.
- Second Sub was Naji for Zion, this is probably Jordan with Borrego.

- Went to the all shooter lineup sub 3 min into the 1st quarter when Luka went out.

JRE
Zion
Hawk
Ryan
Naji

Naji is more than likely Trey now.

SO MUCH BALL MOVEMENT

will update.

Sure we didnt run a completely new offense, but this looks like an entirely different team with the sets called in particular situations.

THATS the difference.

We've also had games Willie coached where we also raved about how great the offense was too.

The fact that the offense looks no different in the games Willie has been a head coach this year than last 2 years should be enough proof that there is no Borrego offensive influence on this team. Whether thats Willie, Borrego or player’s’ fault- who knows.

I think the plays are there to be run but hard to run those plays when you have guys like Herb and Dyson in the lineup playing major minutes. Hence the players- specifically BI go back to iso ball.

Not sure how Trey plays 36 minutes and gets 8 shots. We do not run anything at all for him. He basically sits around the 3 point line and waits.

Earlier on yes but lately all that has disappeared especially when all the players got healthy and Willie started leaning into his defensive favored guys.

Can someone explain to me how in the Hell, you have a Trey Murphy and can't get him some open looks. This is ridiculous, Murphy might be the best shooter in the game, not name Curry and why isn't Hawking getting some minutes. This kid is one of the best shooters in the league and Willie is not playing him.
We should be leading the Western Conference, blowing double digit leads are becoming the norm, too much talent is being wasted. I hope Willie can right the ship, but I have my doubts.

We don’t get BI shoved up our dick hole with James. Ball movement, screens, raining threes, etc

Maybe Willie just doesn't like him.

We're one of the few teams in the league that don't scheme to get our really elite shooter looks. Everything has to go through Zion/BI. If they don't generate looks, Murphy isn't going to get the shot opportunities he needs.

Willie has specifically said they don’t run anything for him and hes suppose to get his shots within the offense. If you listen to Willie’s pressers its crazy sometimes the shite he says. I remember it was near the season starting and thet hadnt installed plays for Zion lol

Update:

We came out at half in the starting lineup, realized it wasnt working out and went to a strictly BALANCED lineup that always had at minimum 2 shooters on the floor.

The game was never in question despite only shooting 36% from 3 (so slightly above average).
