Lol at the fricking idiots that think AD is overrated. Dude is a top 50 all time NBA player and will go down as the best player to ever play professional basketball in New Orleans and we completely wasted him.

Normally I agree that anyone with takes like this is retarded but AD let a guy named Maximilian Kleber blow by him for a dunk like 2-3 times last night.

We've already lost Saints Talk, and Pels Talk is pretty shitty as well nowadays.

I'd bet half these guys didn't even watch the game. They see the L, have their mind made up that he quit, and run with it.

Maybe saying he doesn't care if we win is too far but he's definitely not a type A, win at all costs dude.

AD shouldn't be in the conversation as best player in the nba. Lebron on this team and we are top 5 in the west. He is a role player. I love the guy but I think this media circus is a joke. we are 15-20 with AD and Jrue. Imagine Jrue and Lebron

Well yea, because only 1 player in the NBA is in that conversation, Lebron.

So if you're not as good as arguably the GOAT, you're a role player. Got it.

He’s constantly let sub par players make him look like a bitch. He’s avoiding injury, I think that’s clear.

The question isn't do you think AD is really good or great. Of course he is. He is a top 10 player in the league, but the constant mention of him being a top 2 or 3 player in the league, and his contention for MVP every year makes him overrated.

so you think AD can be the best player on a team and win a ship? We are 15-20 for gods sake. we are behind the Kings. We are behind almost everyone but the fricking suns.

I'm saying the media won't talk about this shite. they praise AD and he has done jack shite aside from numbers. He has jrue who is a top defensive player. granted its also on dell for trotting out Solomon, Tim Frazier, and Darius in a starting lineup.

But at some point someone needs to hold AD accountable and not just slob on his knob

of course. I'd go as far as to say it's pretty absurd to think he can't.

Now of course we live in a world where Golden State exists, so no one is good enough to be the best player on a title team not named GS.

But AD is clearly good enough to be the best player on a team that can win a title, if he had another top 10 player and then another All Star with him...which is essentially what it takes to win a title nowadays.

and there's your answer. We play like a 20ish win team when AD is off the court, statistically speaking. That's pretty hard to overcome. Injuries have crushed this team, and we have zero depth.

The shittiest part about this is the way the Pels were set up going into this offseason, we were the PERFECT landing spot for Lebron, it would never happen nor even be entertained or mentioned simply because of us being in a small market..

If LBJ forces a opt in and trade here, Rondo and Cousins re-signs and we could still grab Elfrid and another mid level player (like a KCP)

Rondo/Elfrid/Frazier
Jrue/Moore/Frank
LBJ/KCP/Miller
AD/Niko/Hill
Cousins/Okafor/Diallo

That wouldve been a great team to watch, and still wouldve been plenty deep to not have to play anyone big minutes, and still been able to give Boogie plenty of rehab time.

ETA: Forgot about sending salary out to Cleveland, but Moore, Hill and Ajinca wouldve gotten close salary wise.

What assets would CLE have gotten to make that worth their time?

You can be both an elite player and simply a complimentary player.

Saying someone is a Robin or a Complimentary player isn't an insult.

It is pretty clear at this point that while Davis is ABSOLUTELY Elite, he is also not a guy that can single-handidly drag his team on a playoff run. He's just not that guy.

There's nothing wrong with that. He needs an elite player with him that leads, scores, facilitates, etc while he owns the paint and runs the floor. It is what it is.

We couldve sent Moore, Hill, and Ajinca (expiring), along with a couple unprotected 1sts for them to start their rebuild.. They get out of the tax, and grab a couple draft assets for their trouble, and dont lose LBJ for nothing.

Haven't checked, but I imagine that letting Lebron go for nothing got them out of the tax, and taking on those 3 contracts would put them into the tax. And late 1st rounders may not be enticing enough if the tax penalty was pretty costly.

New Orleans is 3-10 in games within three points during the final three minutes of regulation, the worst record in the league

A team that has a top 3 player would never be this bad in the final 3 minutes of close games.

That number is totally random.

Teams do not have any skill to be able to replicate winning 3pt games or less, especially in a regular season. If they did, you'd see the same teams excel at it year in and year out, but it's completely random, factually speaking.

For reference, the Suns are tied for the best winning % in the NBA in games decided by 3 points or less.

It’s called winning time. All time greats excel in those moments. AD has been very hit or miss. He’s a great talent no doubt. But that’s why it’s so frustrating. He has top 3 athletic abilities but lacks the killer instinct. It doesn’t seem to be in his DNA.
