Disagree.

Look at the Kings. Look at the shite stain Saints.

Teams with unpopular or coaches they've checked out on always have a temporary bump post firing. It happens all the time in college too - when a coach leaves or is fired and the interim wins the bowl game and gets carried off the field.

I promise this team would win more games with Borrego at this point. they'd win more with Stan Van Gundy as hated as he was.

shite, T-Spoon could get these guys to play harder at this point.

Will it last? Absolutely not. But it could be just enough to frick up our lottery odds and will mean absolutely jack shite just like Rizzi's bullshite wins fricked the Saints from top 5 to 9.

EXACTLY!! winning some of these bullshite, meaningless games could be the difference in picking top 7 or 8 vs. top 3... and the talent level drops off significantly after the top 3 in this upcoming draft... can't go wrong with any of the top 3 guys, but after that, you could really miss on a guy, and considering the crossroads we are at as an organization, that would be beyond catastrophic for the franchise

Are the two kids from Rutgers in this top 3?
That Rutgers team that won't make the tournament despite having 2 top 3 picks in the draft on their team?

I don't know how many times i have to explain this. It's going to be a struggle for us to finish bottom 4 unless we trade BI and Zion sits out the vast majority of our remaining 44 games, as well as some missed games from Trey/CJ/Murray, and Murray has several milliion reasons to not miss another game this season.
We are too talented to finish in that bottom 4 if we are just slightly healthy. Thankfully we've dug ourselves a giant hole and have some wiggle room to frick up and win a few games. We are 7 games behind Portland/Brooklyn. The only way we finish bottom 5 is if we stay behind those two teams. I think Portland will try enough to stay ahead of us, but Brooklyn is going to go full tank mode. I do think there's a big difference between 5th and 6th. I don't think it matters much if your 4th or 5th. I showed before that the 7th and 8th spot has much better luck than the 6th in finishing in the top 4.

What we do in the month of January will be important to our tanking though. It's the easiest month of the year by a large margin. 15 games and 9 of them are against bottom tier teams (counting Dallas without Luka/Kyrie). We might actually win 7 or 8 games in this stretch. We've won 2 already (2-2). It's kind of important that BI and Trey don't play over the next 2-3 weeks.
The remaining 33 games will have just 3 games against bottom tier teams, while the other 30 games are against playoff/playin teams. I doubt we win more than 10 games in those 33. Assuming BI has been traded by then, and even with Trey back it's going to be a tough end to the season.

So we are looking at probably 15 more wins at best for the rest of the season, which would leave us at 22-60. Most years that will give you a top 3 pick, but i think we'll see some serious tanking this year.

Problem with this is I dont think we want to be in slots 1 or 2 going INTO the lottery. They haven't faired well at all...
I’ll take those chances and even if one or two teams jumps us we’d still be in the top 4

yes, they are...

and? just b/c they have 2 legit studs doesn't make them a good TEAM... ask the coach why his team sucks, not me...

and who do you think everyone is tanking for? just curious...

you can yada yada it all you want... we suck, we need help, and good help is at the very top of this draft... we need to give ourselves the BEST shot at getting at the top, so we can get that talent... only way to do that is to continue to tank, and these "injuries" are helping, as is keeping Willie's terrible coaching arse...

continue to the current trajectory, period...

trade BI and Zion

this about the only thing you said I completely agree with...

and you can say "i think" all you want, bottom line is neither you nor I know a fricking thing about what this organization, much less other organizations, is trying to do at this point... what I do know is this is some of the worst basketball i've ever seen by a professional team, and wholesale changes HAVE TO be made... don't know what that will look like for them, but short of that, we are basically running it back with what we already have, for the most part, and that's just not good enough

top 4

if we get the 4th pick, when the top 3 guys are the prizes, then we are just fricking cursed as a franchise...

you got Flagg, Bailey, and Harper as the real big fish, so if you end up at 4 you are just sort "stuck"... the best talent is already gone, and nobody worth anyone else trading up for...

that's the absolute WORST case scenario for us... anything 1-3 is fine, but we end up 4th, and yeah, we are fricking cursed
