How good could a core of Zion / Holiday / Davis have been?

If AD wasn't such a huge pussy and stayed in New Orleans (I know he wouldn't, but just for argument sake) after we got the 1st pick, how good would that core plus filler been? Top 4 in the west?

To answer your question, I often wonder how different things would be if toni would have agreed to play the 5 next to Zion, with Jrue terrorizing the perimeter. We would have been very fricking good.

Watching point Zion develop, you could have him take over ball handling duties in the 4th when Holiday usually forgot how to play basketball. As much as I hate him now, AD is literally the perfect 5 to play with Zion. They would score 60 points a game between them.

Same analogy could have been said if CP3 would have stuck around...etc.
Guys leave the small markets for a reason... hopefully zion makes such an impact in his young career that he sticks around and bucks the trend of what the others have done in the past, but if not we'll likely see him move on like those before him did

I think about that and also wonder, how good this team would be if we kept Jrue this year.

People complaining about BI in the clutch would be replaced by dozens of melt threads every time Jrue dribbles the air out of the ball and off his foot in close games. Or goes to line to knock down those clutch FT’s, that he *checks notes* was hitting at 55% last season.
I think the fact is things like point Zion don’t happen if AD and Jrue are here.
Hell Toni would probably be bitching behind closed doors that Zion needs to play center because Toni is a fragile snowflake that plays the game like he’s 100 pounds lighter than he is and is scared of matching up defensively against centers. Hall of fame player, but you have to basically assume both players would turn into different people for this fantasy to work.
I think the fact is things like point Zion don’t happen if AD and Jrue are here.

the type of season the pels are having is great. Zion needs to destroy the off szn, come back leaner and have guys wanting to come play with him in nola.
I think that's truly the only way Zion will ultimately stay in nola...has to make it a destination that others want to come to...currently its not.

And my point is that unless you rewrite their personalities it unfortunately wouldn’t have.
Toni is a big bitch that still has the mental toughness of that skinny short kid with glasses from his high school days at guard and Jrue would be thinking he’s the guy in the clutch and Zion.
If somehow you got them to rewrite their personalities then I think yeah, on paper that’s a hell of a squad. Zion/AD would be an unstoppable duo if you gave them shooters and an additional playmaker like Jrue.

Mirotic is who i would love back. Is he still in europe? He would compliment zion so well and give him more space.
