If Melli’s shot isn’t falling, what is he bringing to the game? Slow feet, low bball iq on defense, and just doesn’t look confident at all. Surely there’s other options. And while I don’t think Gabriel will fix all, he’s certainly got to be an improvement when he can get on the practice floor and then the real deal.

I never understood this board liking him. I guess he strung together a handful of decent games at some point last season, but he's never even lived up to my low expectations of him, Darius Miller with a little rebounding.

There were certainly many who liked what Melli brought last year, and I think it has more to do with the idea of the player he was. A Euro guy who is a big man that can knock down the 3. Ideally that’s exactly the spacing guy you want with Zion, and it’s clear that’s what SVG is thinking as well because he pairs him with Z very often. I just wonder at what point do you cut your losses and look elsewhere.
