At this point it's clear that Dyson is a better on ball defender than Herb. Herb is better at team/help defense.

It's crystal clear. Dyson dominated Ja in the 2nd quarter.

With Herb absolutely unable to stop Ja, there was zero reason that Willie should have kept Herb on the floor late in the game. Either sub in Dyson to actually frustrate Ja, or put Trey in and match the Grizzlies' scoring.

Herb kept running Ja off the 3 point line where he was dominating in the paint. Should have had the exact opposite strategy. This loss was ok Willies coaching and Herbs bad night. Love Herb but you got to know personnel. Ja was way off on all his 3s and was getting a foul or a bucket every time he drove

Also, I thought DD played Ja well when on him, but Willie did not go back to that when Ja got hot.

If Herb had the flu, then what I wrote above about him may be unfair.

I'd argue it strengthens your argument even more.

Absolutely. If Herb was suffering effects from the flu, leaving him out there to guard Ja (particularly given the way the refs were calling the game), rather than Dyson was another terrible coaching decision from Willie.

And that is 100% on Zion, not Herb. He’s been pretty terrible over the last two weeks
lol that’s a bit unfair. I’d say it’s more Herb starting and not being able to shoot at all and BI not wanting to shoot. Would make Zions life a lot easier if we had more shooters around him on the floor at once but Willie doesn’t like that

It's possible that Herb was feeling the initial effects of the flu without Willie knowing.
