Numbers say when he plays with JV, he’s a net positive. A lot of his minutes are with nance and jre. Both have been bad defensively

Willie simply doesn't play lineups with a bunch of shooters, which is exactly what we should be doing around Zion.

Hawkins most active 2 man lineups in order by most minutes played with:

Dyson
Val
BI
Herb
Zion
Naji

Then you finally get to Matt Ryan and CJ.

Of the top 6, zero of those dudes are shooters. Zion minutes are obviously ok because it's Zion you want paired with shooters, so that's fine. But the other 5 are all non shooters. BI should be, but he doesn't take 3s. So Hawkins is all too often in lineups where he's the only shooter and also not nearly enough with Zion.

There needs to be more Zion/Hawk/Trey or Zion/CJ/Hawk lineups. Depending on the matchup, you can probably even sneak a few minutes of Zion/Hawk/Trey/CJ.

None of the aforementioned 3 man or 4 man lineups are in Hawkins top 10 lineup combos. That does make sense since he got most of his minutes when CJ/Trey were out but...that's the entire point.

Man there are sooo many coaching blunders on this team. Its just ridiculous. Players deserve blame but these lineups are atrocious. And these close losses with good teams come down to these dumb lineups that can’t score.

Nah man that makes too much sense. Lets continue to play 4 non shooters.

Look at how Mike Malone is managing Strawther. He has a -67 net. And Malone is finding ways to get him meaningful minutes and develop him. That is a championship team and they don't even need to play him but they understand the long game and how valuable a guy like that will be if you develop him.

is that what you got from that?
what a stupid and pointless counter. I know i posted a ton of shite there, but you made no effort to understand any of it if that's what you got out of it. Sorry for trying to help you understand how stupid it was to say he's a -68 when he plays.

We have a finishing game problem. And trading good defense for 2 or 3 three point makes ain't it

That's a great comparison. They're valuing their 29th pick's development more than we are with our 14th pick.

Strawther's On/off is terrible, and DEN has also been bad just when he's on the court. And he's still played in 20+ straight games, averaging 15.6mpg in his last 20 games, again, with no DNPs.

The returning champion can find a way to get minutes for a rookie but the Pelicans can't?

We cant score in clutch situations/have offensive droughts and you think it makes sense to send one of our best volume shooters and spacers to the gleague? Part of the finishing is offense- frankly majority is offense.

Yea we have normal things that every team needs to work on. But as a whole finishing games, and starting second halves better, puts pels at 22-23 wins RN and at/near top of western Conference standings

Not really, we have some pretty unique issues.

But we aren't, so that is irrelevant.

And that's just it. We have two good defenders on this team with a bunch of "scorers". Games would be done before 4th quarter, like weve seen already, with hawk getting bookoo minutes

I'm not defending Hawkins going away. But have you seen the Nuggets depth? They have a horrible bench. They are desperate for bodies. I'm not surprised he's getting minutes there..

Lol here we go kid. To make better arguments you’ll start using the word “bitch.” You’re officially at the point where I can’t argue anymore so I’ll just resort to saying you’re “bitching.” I’m not repeating what everyone on this board is “bitching” about that Willie is just wrong in doing this.
