Haven't seen the exact quote but this really means nothing. No intelligent team official is ever going to be cornered into language that there are plans to move players. Lest that team create a situation like the Spring 2019 Lakers.

If striking out on top choices, one of the options can be to collect two or three one year rentals to trade at the deadline for future assets.

Nets make a ton of sense as they really don't have a PF and could strike out adding to kyrie.
