Lonzo is a good backup PG I.E. Austin Rivers, and that’s where he wants to play, the backup role.

Gentry is forcing him to start, he doesn’t want to do that so he is sitting with “injury”. It’s not Lonzo’s fault that Gentry has horrible rotations.

I'm not a fan of Lonzo, i'll be honest, and i want to trade him, but i do think he can be a good player on the right team. I think he's a worthless player in the half court the way we are running our half court offense. You can't deny that the offense in the half court looks much much better with NAW than Lonzo, and that's with NAW making many mistakes and missing lots of open shots.

Right now our starters have terrible on/off stats. Ingram is actually the worst on the team, which you would think would be impossible. Ingram/Jrue/JJ/Ball/Okafor are the bottom 5.

The top 5 for on/off stat thus far are: Kenrich, NAW, Hayes, Moore, and Frank

does that mean Kenrich/NAW/Hayes/Moore/Frank are better than Jrue/Ingram/Ball/JJ? No, but the starters have no chemistry when they play and simply don't fit well together.

I've been saying it for a while now, Jrue and Ball don't seem to fit well with Ingram, and Ingram is the future with Zion. Maybe things look different with Zion, but if the preseason is any indication, then it likely won't look different.

NAW is a better nba point guard right now than Lonzo. Better defense, more aggressive, more heart, more movement. Trade Lonzo’s cancerous arse yesterday. Ride with NAW

This post is so stupid. Lonzo is a good defender, he's had some bad moments but he hasnt played every game and at no point did it look like he wasnt trying and his past has shown us he can defend very well. No reason to think that has changed. I mean he t-8 in steals per game. I guess he needs to be top 2-3 in the league to be considered a good defender?

The "heart" argument pretty much shows you're just trying to hate for the sake of hating and that you just dont like the guy. Dont give me that crap.

Anybody have the analytics on the heart Ball showed in his 8 games vs the heart NAW showed in his 13?

Ball is not in the shape he was in in the past either because his ankle injury pretty much didnt allow him to workout all offseason..

Just like everyone else he will slowly get into shape and you'll see his game come back

But Ingram's +/- numbers look so bad because we've forced him to guard opposing PFs, at which he has been dreadful. A week or so ago, I saw a breakdown, and his numbers when playing SF are so much better than at PF, but we've made him play more minutes at PF than at SF. Ingram doesn't have a bad +/- when playing SF.

And I don't know how much of the starters' problems is chemistry, and how much of it was that Favors was playing hurt and Jrue just took a while to get in sync. We'll see when we get guys back.

Is that supposed to be a good metric for being a good defender?
Lonzo is at his best on the fast break. Getting a steal starts a fast break. Getting a defensive rebound starts a fast break. So Lonzo looks to get those things above all else at times. That's Lebron defense, not really playing good team defense but taking chances to get a steal so you can get a highlight dunk.

That being said, i think Lonzo plays good defense for the most part.

It's one good metric. I never said it's the only way to judge someone. I like the eye test with defense too, and there is nothing to make me think he is lazy or just plain bad on D like the OP is saying.
