oh and you say about 50% of the club being filled. that is true, but if you look at the upper bowl only about 30-40% of it is filled as well.

I used this source:

LINK

I trust it over the message board, but the point is largely the same for all three teams, basically. SLC had some winning that helps them keep from coming under stupid arbitrary fire.

No need to quibble over other people's definitions, data sources.

Also, Buffalo is a curious case since they play some home games in Toronto, drawing from one of the largest cities in North America . . . it's unique in that regard and doesn't have to sell-out in that small market of Buffalo.

changing your tune a bit all of a sudden.

this was never about caring what people do. I'm just sticking up for the Hornets organization who has been trying desperately to get financial support from their fan base.

About the club:

Those seats should be bought BUSINESSES and used for BUSINESS PURPOSES. Those empty seats can be lain at the feet of the BUSINESSES, not individuals, business owners or otherwise.

Forget who is in them. The available inventory needs to be purchase 100% by BUSINESSES if this team is going to make it to 2024. Sign it.

well its not a big deal, but the fact is that New Orleans is not the smallest market in the NBA. metro area is what you count when considering the market size.

orly? because based on what you've been saying, it seems quite the opposite.

the hornets do not get hurt by someone moving down or around in an empty arena. in fact, if anything, it could make people want to buy better tickets.

well the problem with that is there are only so many businesses and corporations in the NOLA area that are willing to commit or have already committed in other ways. you have to remember the very fabricated 10,000+ season ticket claims over the last couple of seasons were due to multiple businesses buying out blocks of thousands of tickets all over the arena (particularly behind the goals in the lower bowl and in the upper bowl). those are the tickets that you see on Stubhub for dirt cheap if they are unable to give them away.

Why are you so mad over this? I'm a season ticket holder. I have no problem at all if someone wants to buy cheap tickets and move down. Let them do what they want. If it doesn't inconvenience me, and makes the hornets look better on TV, go for it.

false.

when ticket holders who pay premium price watch freeloaders move down from the upper bowl for free you don't think that hurts them? many of those people are complaining to their ticket reps and rightfully so. it isn't fair and it isn't right. however its not a big problem to begin with because for the most part the arena security is good at stopping cheapskate, trash from doing this.

you're ridiculous. go to bed, dude.

when the hornets start selling the place out on a regular basis in the next few years, this won't be a problem. until then,

Metro area is what you count.

I'm not sure that's what's important.

Stern says, aside from an arena of quality, there are three things that are required for a franchise: government support, corporate support, a strong local TV deal.

Nowhere in there is attendance or a population base. TV households are there, etc. These STH counts, etc. are important, but getting the populace in important and only made easier by a larger population, and then it falls to TV.

ETA: That data you cited looks to be from 2004. Other data on the page clearly states this, and the number is a little larger than what is shown today in the DMA data I posted, which further supports this.

That is precisely the problem. Ignoring what anyone is considered fabricated (people handed money over and got tickets), the businesses need to buy these tickets and give them away, essentially. Perks. Vendor and client meetings. Customer appreciation. A higher count of businesses makes the problem easier to solve, but the problem has to be solved. This was the problem with the Jazz, and it continues to this day.

This is on the team to locate, train, and hold these sales.

It's doable. They won't kick you out for trying. Just make sure you don't take someone's seats. They just check your ticket section and then will try to remember your face from then on. Broke the seal for halloween and they definitely didn't check it every time. I've had tickets in both areas this year. If you're going to a single game just buy the good tickets. They can be had for less than face on stub hub.

the best part during every game for me is watching the ushers come down and escort the freeloaders who thought for a minute that they beat the system and kick them out of the game. that walk of shame is hilarious.

Dude, what the frick is wrong with you?

You sound like the biggest, uptight doucher in this thread.

I'm 21 years old and in school. Forgive me if I can't afford $300+ for two club seats for my gf and I to watch a fricking NBA game for two and a half hours.

I, despite lacking financial means, make it a priority to support the franchise by attending 5-10 games a year. Forgive me if I'd like to be economical and buy the cheapest ticket available and sit in good seats. According to your logic, I should save all my money and buy suite tickets and attend only one game a year.

If someone is in your seats, tell them they are politely and they'll move. If not, get the usher. How inconvenienced are you then? Jesus, you act as if these people, many of whom are bigger, better Hornets fans than yourself, are scum of the earth.

Holy frick you're an insecure, snobby dick.

there is absolutely nothing wrong with that and I never said there was. don't put words in my mouth. if anything I have said that you can purchase lower bowl tickets on stubhub for as low as $15 for most games.

good for you. you're doing your part unlike most who sit and bitch about attendance

see that's where you went wrong. your trying to scheme your way into taking something that you didn't pay for.

pure ignorance. nothing I have stated has hinted that people should save all their money and buy suite tickets. again, putting words in my mouth.

I've never had that problem and personally I don't tattle on anyone when I see it. however it is comical watching the ushers come down and bust them.

you're the one getting extremely angry using curse words. so I'm wrong and the Hornets organization is wrong for looking down upon people trying to scheme a way to receive something they didn't pay for? you're the one that is insecure.
