This thread is awesome! Maybe you should learn how a NBA roster works before you start bitching about someone's playing time.

Did you not watch the game? I would say that Peja scoring 17 points in 19 min is pretty damn good and the fact that he was 2nd on the team in scoring behind CP3. I do think that he shouldn't have been in the game towards the end for defensive reasons.
I think Monty is still feeling out how to play Peja, but he had a huge game for the hornets last night.

And if they did play the same position Thornton is so far back on the depth chart that he didn't even dress last night.
Wait...he's not hurt? I don't follow Hornets talk all that much, but when I saw him not dressed out on the bench, I just figured he was hurt.

He has a "thigh bruise". But Monty flat out said he wouldn't be playing anyway because his defense is lacking.

After spending his second consecutive game on the inactive list in Monday night's loss at Dallas, New Orleans Hornets reserve shooting guard Marcus Thornton probably won't be back on the active roster anytime soon, Coach Monty Williams said Tuesday.
Williams said Thornton's defensive deficiencies have negated his playing time. "Not in my estimation," Williams said Tuesday when asked if Thornton could expect a return to action soon. "He's got to do some things defensively to earn minutes. That's just the way we're going to play it. We're not in a position to give away minutes because games are too important.
"I don't have a doghouse. I would hope you guys wouldn't even make that up. I don't even play that. I've explained to him on a number of occasions why he's not playing."

If that's the way Monty is going to play it, they need to trade him now. I've liked every other move Monty and Dell have made, but they are shitting the bed with regards to Thornton.

No they aren't.
Chris Paul made some comments yesterday and today too that suggest that they all know its Marcus' fault. He's either not getting or he doesn't WANT to get it.
I'm reading between the lines, but it sounds like Chris is saying that Marcus still doesn't get it, and that they are trying to all get through to him.
Monty is known for working with young players, especially SGs and SFs. He's just trying to get through to him, develop him into a better player. If he doesn't want to put the work in, then he doesn't get to play.

"He's going to be fine," Hornets guard Chris Paul said of Thornton. "We had to help him to understand that last year was last year. It's sometimes easy to do well on a team that's not that good or not that great. This team here has an opportunity to be special. We just have to find out where we all fit in."
