but the guy is a good player, and attacks the rim. He didn't do that last night yet.
he did once and got the and 1.....really looked like it could've been called an offensive foul though. And OP , I played ball in HS and D2 ball in college , then pro camps until the age of 30 , trust me when I tell you that Smiths feelings getting hurt won't be an issue

It was just a Game 1 observation. My statements are based soley on last night and what I know of the players from watching them play before. The only times I have ever seen Bayless play was against the Hornets. So what I said about him was from what I saw last night. I do hope he is alright after taking that brutal screen last night though. Take one like that is kinda like whiplash.

FWIW, CP did that "help me up" thing more than once.
as he should
His teammates should all be running to pick him up any time he goes to the floor. He has to log huge minutes this season, and should be expending as little energy as possible when not playing minutes. It may be minor and look petty to us on the outside, but it's about leadership and doing all the little things to help the team succeed long term.

This is preferable but I think you're making too big of a deal out of it. Drew Brees doesn't usually yell at his guys, Peyton Manning does, both have lead their teams to Super Bowl wins. Chris Paul is one of the best point guards in the league because he is so driven to win, and being that driven to win means not accepting easily correctable mistakes.

I was at th game as well I loved what I saw from Smith he's got a great body, nice looking stroke. He took it to the hoop a few times and looked strong doing it.I see him helping us down the road. All in all I'm feeling better about my season tix investment.

I was offered by D2 schools, then I tore my knee up with 8 games left my senior year. Smith's feelings weren't the orginal point the point was how do you think it looks like switching to Lebron's agent and then seeming to have a diva attitude. Do you think since Lebron's been in his ear does he feel more intitled or that he deserves more?

you said he was acting like a Diva and bitching @ Smith....my response was I wouldn't worry about Smith getting his feelings hurt. He probably was bitching at him for something else. I'm not exactly crazy about CP3 being under the LBJ umbrella , but l'il fella has acted professionally since he has been here , and I see nothing to indicate a difference.

And the back up center is not Smith, its Mbenga , he didn't put up shots either. Smith is the back up PF
He did play both the 4 and 5 last night. I wasn't blown away by Smith, but you can tell he plays hard, and he does have somewhat of midranger jumper, even though it wasn't falling much last night. I still like him as a our back up 4/5.

Jesus, are people really giving Bayless shite already? The dude got in town on SUNDAY and played his first game on WEDNESDAY.

I played biddy basketball and Junior High ball, which makes me sort of an expert...
i KNOW that Jerryd Bayless' problems stem from him only being here not even a week.
give the kid time. He has tons of potential.
i credit a lot of Collison's success to being CP3's understudy. Bayless has probably even more potential than Collison. I'm excited to see him improve as the year(s) go by.

He's always been like that.
first hornets game you've watched?

Exactly, and it's also worth mentioning and Bayless is a year younger than Collison.

I was the star on my team expect when I went and played with the D1 guys that went to LSU. I played point guard so I completely understand CP3's importance. He is the most important player on the floor because everything feeds off of him. All I was say is you can get on your teammates thats fine anyone who has ever been a leader has done it. Just try not to make them look bad in front of everyone. How would you feel if your boss bitched you out in front of everyone when he could have done it just between you to and still got the point across. Don't take this as me not liking Paul he is my favorite player in the league and I think he is a great guy.
I played against Ryan Theriot, Mike Fontenot, and Chad Durbin (I actually caught a bullpen session for Durbin, as well). That doesn't make me an expert on dealing with millionaires, though.

The point I was making is "TOOT!"
Posted on 10/28/10 at 3:42 pm to Jester
Poor you for not understanding them I know lots of them and I understand them just fine. All they want to do is have people see them as a success, be the best at what they do, and make as much more money as they can. That is driven millionaires though and we all know there are a lot of players in the NBA that are not driven their just there to get their money.

I think you're missing my point. TOOT! One of my good friends played in the NBA for several years. Toot! I'm sorry, but having a tentative D2 offer and playing against people that went on to be pros does not make you an expert.
Posted on 10/28/10 at 4:01 pm to Jester
What the hell is a toot? I never said I was an expert but I do think having played and coached some does mean you know a little something.
Posted on 10/28/10 at 4:11 pm to JSwoll
That's the sound of tooting one's own horn, son. Goatboy calls it like he sees it, Mikey.
