For those upset with the trade, what would you have preferred?

Tatum was off the table. What else would you have wanted?

Honestly a S/T for DAngelo Russell, Levert, Joe Harris, and their Center

But everyone on this board is getting their panties in a wad over nothing. Pelicans had no leverage to warrant a huge trade offer

It’s a serious question because I’m trying to figure Out how to feel about it TBH. I get being upset about AD getting what he wants but you have to separate yourself from that.

Cannot do a sign and trade for Russel.. In a sign and trade you cant include other pieces, so we would have been trading AD for Russel only

May still be able to S/T for Russell I’m hoping.

Kuzma included. But if that’s true about 7 years, I guess that cancels out.

We could make moves to sign him outright. The Nets freed up space for 2 max guys, right? If they sign Kyrie, then I'm pretty sure that they'd have to renounce Russell's rights to sign the 2nd max guy. That eliminates S&T options, which would be good for whatever team signs him since it lowers his compensation.

Immediate reactions were going to be bad over here. No one really wanted to see him go to LAL, so unless a big name was involved, pels talk was going to hate the trade.

It’s not the trade I dreamed of, but it’s better than what I feared. We traded one superstar for a group of valuable assets. Regardless of personal preference, many in the league value ball, and everyone values 1sts.

I don’t think the dealing are done here. We now have multiple assets to deal, all while likely retaining a SF who has all star potential (albeit with valid concerns).

It’s not a home run, but we didn’t get fleeced

I know alot are disappointed here but reading the comments on facebook of alot of outside people who are neither fans of the pels and Lakers are laughing at the Lakers right now saying we robbed them and they will be in the lottery for many year. Majority are saying we got a great deal. Frankly im just glad to have it over and i dont think the lakers move will pay off for them. Lebron has been playing less minutes the last few seasons to conserve his body and AD is a puss who is hurt alot. I dont think u see alot of time with them on the court together.
