It's not expecting too much for a heavy source of the news to not keep calling us Charlotte. And as a guy that once wanted to pursue a career in journalism, I know you're supposed to get slapped down hard when you misspell a person's name. That this crap keeps on happening with no end in sight...
It's a pet peeve.

The playoff predictor is a web app that someone probably built a few years ago and now just gets the numbers that power it updated. It's probably maintained somewhat automatically by pulling the numbers from data feeds. You are expecting too much from something that was probably created as someone's side project that was cool enough to make the main web site.
So I'm guessing since OKC changed logos and uniforms the same year that we did they have a Sonics logo if the Thunder win the title in the sim?
How about the 76ers, who changed their logo just last season?
Oh wait, they both have their current logos while the Hornets are stuck with their logo from 3 seasons ago.
It's a constant problem - the Hornets are either "Charlotte" or "CHA" or they have outdated logos. It's ridiculous and even if in a subtle way it adds to the perception that we're not a first-class (or even a second-class) franchise. It may be true, but as one of 30 NBA teams, we deserve the same respect as the other 29 franchises when it comes to things like our fricking NAME and LOGO.

Maybe the tech guy didn't realize they were even different, especially at that resolution. I had to have it pointed out to me.

I've said before, I think at least some of it is intentional and they have a drinking game built around it. But in this case I really think it's an app maintained by a tech guy that doesn't even know anything is wrong.

The Thunder's logo looks nothing like the Sonics logo.
The 76ers new logo looks nothing like their old one.

Fair points but I still think our franchise is an afterthought to tons of people who make their living in the sports world, especially for a franchise who has had CP3 (considered by most to be a top-5 player in the league for most of the past 5 years), and was .500 or better for like 14 of the last 18 seasons (not many franchises can say that).
Season W L %
2008-09 49 33 .598
2007-08 56 26 .683
2006-07 39 43 .4--
2005-06 38 44 .463
2004-05 18 64 .281
2003-04 41 41 .500
2002-03 47 35 .573
2001-02 44 38 .537
2000-01 46 36 .561
1999-00 49 33 .597
1998-99 26 24 .520
1997-98 51 31 .622
1996-97 54 28 .659
1995-96 41 41 .500
1994-95 50 32 .610
1993-94 41 41 .500
It's a pretty impressive regular season track record even if the franchise was only a legitimate Conference title contender for 2 of those years.

The two Hornets logos look similar. I don't think it's THAT big of a deal that they use the old one.
Now, the fluer de bee looks a lot different, but I don't think that is our official logo.
