I'm repeating the same thing because its what actually happens.

When a name becomes available, the last thing teams do is look at the fit. CP3 alongside Harden actually wasn't a good fit (as is Westbrook), however they seen the name. Kyrie as another example. Hell even PG next to Kawhi. That Clips team would have been better with SGA and Gallo than they were without them.

100% guarantee 29 teams put in a bid on AD, not worrying about the fit.

Teams are saving cap space hoping Giannis becomes a free agent in 21, they not worrying about the fit.

Paul George is a guy that when he's on he can singlehandedly win you a playoff series. Jrue cannot do that. So any other time PG would be valued WAY higher than Jrue, however his lackluster season combined with his shoulders will give pause. That's the only reason he will have less value. It will not be because of fit.

Your second paragraph contradicts the first. Why would Miami or the Nets trade for PG to help get closer to a title when PG hasn't show the ability to play in the playoffs?

Deandre Jordan didn’t really help them win either, so why did they not only sign but play him outsized minutes?

Answer that and you will start to grasp why front offices often do things that aren’t always in the ideal strategy model.

Not saying PG is even an option for Brooklyn, or Miami, and I very much disagree with the recency bias on calling him a fraud, but the idea that either would turn their nose up at acquiring him for secondary assets like Lavert and Prince is silly. They won’t get him because they don’t have the space, but Paul George is still a 22-6-4 player that can hit 41% of his threes at high volume and take over games.

Getting him as your third star in Brooklyn would be a no brainer....And not doing so to keep some role players would create a KD/Kyrie mutiny.

And let’s be honest here, if you want to ding PG for devaluing himself because of the playoffs, while talking up Jrue as a better trade prospect, you gotta be consistent. Jrue very much regressed this season as well. 3 season low in TS%, WS, VORP, lowest PER as a Pelican, lowest individual net rating in years, and his fourth quarter offense has been outright abysmal this season: 48% TS, 39% from the field and 26% from three. Jrue was the definition of a three quarter player this season. If George gets ripped for playoff regression, Jrue would need to be knocked for a season wide struggle in the games most important period.

But to bring the Nets back as our example, if Jrue or George are your third best player, you are doing well for yourself. Assuming health(not anywhere close to a guarantee with this bunch), you can Lakers or Lebron’ Heat the rest of the roster and be well positioned.

Well your first answer is Kryie and KD?

I'm not arguing against any of that really and I'm not calling him a fraud. This dude said they would get PG for cheap cheap which is impossible without the space, and a non contender most likely will offer more anyway. They would also have to give up several players in positions that would make them struggle, especially with how PG has been playing in the post season. Those are all facts as to why Nets or Miami would be hesitant and most likely find other deals to build their contenders.

I'm just saying the emotional hype of a "name" isn't really valued higher compared to "fit"

How did starting DeAndre workout BTW? Answer that and see why they've gone through 2 coaches already. I don't care what is "ideal" or not, Kyrie and KD may force a trade for PG if they want, I highly doubt it and I highly doubt they win shite with what's left over.

I get both of your points from a "wanting a star/ high profile player aspect" but there is a reason teams who let their stars pick the teams don't win shite. Hell Kawhi asking for PG is your perfect example among others lol and now y'all are arguing for Kyrie and KD to do the same, while giving up young assets. And the only player I'd probably trust to pick his team is Jimmy Butler, y'all really think he wants soft arse George after the crap he's dealt with?
