I don't get why you stop working out for other teams that pick higher than the suns unless he really wants to play there.

Yeah make no sense. Why not just try and up your stock. If you get picked earlier then great. if not then you know you'll go to the team that promised you.

It doesn't make sense to me either. Apparently it happens often because a player thinks he has a better chance of sticking and having a good career with a particular franchise.

There's also some rumors that the Suns are going to swap with the Raptors.

Suns convinced Amare to stop working out for other teams back in the day so apparently they're good at this. Makes no sense to me either.

I'm guessing it has to do with the offense the Suns run.

Their fast-paced, high-scoring offense appeals to guys who are good shooters, very athletic, and/or not particularly great at defense.

While guys like Amare and Shawn Marion may have been stars if drafted elsewhere, the Suns' system made them look like world-beaters.

Plus Phoenix is a VERY appealing place to live for the young rich, and they have a spectacular medical staff. Players do think about that sort of stuff.
