Could we not put together a better package than CLE for Bynum?

If CLE is just throwing some picks at Orlando and taking on a bad salary and getting a top 3 Center in return I would think "Dealer Dell" (as our good friend Mikey Mac calls him) could put together a comparable deal.

Just looking ahead to next offseason, there really is a better than 50% chance that we won't be able to buy a big-ticket FA or RFA (I mean, look at how Houston, Dallas, and Phoenix have all whiffed - all arguably "bigger markets" than us), so I'd just as soon make something happen now.

I know it's a pipe dream buy why does Cleveland make more sense than us for Bynum? We have similar assets to them and enough cap room to make it happen.

It'd be sick if we could score Bynum. People worry about his maturity but I think he would actually be better around a bunch of younger dudes. His game speaks for itself. Easily the 2nd best center in the league.

Plus he already has a head start in the party atmosphere of New Orleans:

Maybe he'll open up his own joint on Bourbon and St. Ann

The word is that Cleveland is sending Orlando Varejao and picks.

I think the reason they are doing this is because they have been stockpiling picks ever since Bron left and who would you want to part with on this current roster?

The only guys I can think that are on/passed Varejao in terms of production/potential would be Gordon, Davis, Rivers and maybe Smith.

But Varajao is 32 years old and makes $8 million. I would think Jason Smith would be more attractive than AV.

Always forget about that. Wonder why Lil Philly hates the city so much. He probably had a bad acid trip trying to re-create the penultimate scene in Ezy Rider.

I don't get it either. Phil seems like the stereotypical ultra liberal white dude who would typically LOVE New Orleans and our music/culture/food.

Really strange.

Head games fricking with the local fans. Phil's M.O. for some reason.

Plus, ultra-liberal in no way equals a love for N.O. Trust me. Having lived on the West Coast, I can assure you that some of those "ultra-liberals" think of N.O. as being too "icky" and not socially conscious or environmentally correct.

Oh, and frick Phil.

The Hornets have nothing to give up for Bynum besides Rivers. Also, there is no way that the Magic are going to trade Howard and 1 bad contract to end up with just Varejao and a couple of 1st round picks. Maybe if they threw in Waiters the Magic would bite.

lots of ultra liberals love new orleans. in fact, everytime I tell somebody im from NOLA up here, it's usually the far left granolas who wear sandals and have COEXIST bumper stickers on their Subarus who tell me how great NOLA is, how they come every year for Jazz or FQ Fest, etc. etc.

VOR do you agree that we should all find a way to
