Steve Nash ?
Dude definitely knows a thing or two about offense. Has head coaching experience. Interesting

And he has connections with Griff. Back to their Suns days.

Marc Stein also reports that James Borrego is being pursued by the Pelicans for a top assistant role and that Washington might pursue Trajan Langdon
Not sure what to think of Borrego. He didn't seem to stand out as one of Monty's assistants, but he has been a head coach of bad teams twice in Orlando and Charlotte.
It's a bad resume for a head coach, but a decent run for an assistant. LINK He was an assistant under Monty, Pop and Jacque Vaughn, so he should pass the coaching tree test for Willie and Griff.

His offenses were usually good. So I think this isn't a bad move. And he has experience utilizing a lot of good players and find ways to get them on the court and making it work.

He was up and down in Charlotte, but to his credit he took a 20 win team and improved by 10 wins each year. He got fired by Jordan for getting blown out twice in the play-in, but they didn't exactly have a great roster. He didn't coach this year though, but maybe he had this reasons. He's a good offensive coach and very experienced for a 45 year old.

don't know what assistant needs to be axed but it is obvious we need a strong strategic presence on the bench and at practice.
Yeah, I’d get someone who can actually coach on the bench. Maybe someone with an inbounds play or some clock management capabilities.
