Can we just go ahead and fire Gentry & Dell and be done with it?

Gayle and Loomis won’t even realize the Pels exist until February

Even though I like the personnel moves Dell has made in the last two years a lot, I can’t forgive him for hiring Gentry. That was such a massive decision and he fricked it up so bad. If AD demands a trade this offseason, they absolutely need to clean house this offseason and allow the new GM to make that move. Further, I could see Demps trading Davis for some vets to try to keep his job. That would be so disheartening.
If this season keeps going south and we’re 3 games under .500 at the all star break after the football season is over, they absolutely need to just burn the whole thing down and get as many young assets and draft picks as they can for this roster with a new GM and a new coach, preferably one that understands how to handle and develop young talent.
1.5 seasons and 2 postseasons with Davis is enough time for other teams to really ramp up acquiring him even if he says he will only sign with the Lakers. That’s two seasons to change his mind, and if they win and win big, they probably would change his mind.
Holiday would certainly be able to bet you back some assets. Then you’d have Niko and Randle, two players teams would likely give young prospects or a pick for to help with their postseason run.
You really mitigate the Lakers only possibility if you are out in front of this thing.

Gentry is a .500 coach who has been fired from every HC job he has had. Don’t know what he saw in him.

Omer Asik and Solo Hill contracts were so fricking stupid that he doesn't deserve credit for the other moves.

HIll, Moore, Asik, Ajinca were before this offseason or the offseason before.

And...?
Those contracts have torpedoed all of our chances to adequately build around AD

Moore?? He’s on a decent contract. The other 3? Yes horrible

I never said Moore.

I was just saying he’s done well the last two years, and he has.
He’s turned piss (admittedly his own piss) into Lemonade. Resigned Jrue last offseason. Got Rondo last season. Traded Asik and First for Mirotic last season. Drafted Jackson last season which for a second rd pick was a good upside snag. Got Payton after Rondo spurned us this season which was looking like a great move. Somehow managed to convince Randle to come here for 9m. He’s gotten his act together, but you are so very right that he created this situation that AD wants to leave.

That was just a list of deals from those offseasons. Wasn’t crapping on the Moore deal. Just those 4 big deals he gave out over 2 year span
