This is how easy it is:

Noah's stretched salary would be on the books for 6.4 mil. Lets say they keep Dotson and Robinson. Now they are at 10 million (I am even rounding up). Cap holds for 5 guys get you 17 mil (again, I am rounding WAY up). Cap will be 109 - Knicks have 82 million. KD and Kyrie would come both sign max contracts. Then, Knicks trade Lance Thomas, Zion, Knox, Dennis Smith Jr or Frank N to the Pels for AD.

Thats it. They can even keep one of DSJ or Frank. They can keep Mudiay too. Would have enough money for either or both of those guys while also signing two max guys and trading for AD

Again, it would be really, really easy cap wise. If you want to say they wouldn't do it for whatever reason, fine. But don't say they can't make it work cap wise

No, it would happen the second the moratorium is lifting. July 5th or 6th. And it would be agreed to in mid-June, which means the Pels can negotiate and make whatever other moves they need to make with no restrictions. It holds nothing up for any of the teams. This is how everything is done in the offseason, every year. We agreed to trade for Asik before the draft and then completed the actual trade officially weeks later. This isn't an abnormality. Its actually the norm

You are wrong. The plan is to sign Kyrie and KD. THEN trade DSJ, Knox, Lance Thomas, Zion, and another small contract for AD.

Yes, the AD deal will be agreed to first (in mid June, if not earlier) but the deal will be done after KD and Kyrie is signed.

Is this clearer for you now?

I don’t know what I’d do without you mike

So when AD’s contract is up, what kind of contract can they give him?

Oh I’m not arguing with you. I agree with ya but im just trying to mediate. I just think some fans tend to be reactionary without knowing that most of the info leaked is old news to nba organizations. Also, they know way more than what’s reported. There’s a ton of moving parts in every deal between every organization.

a 5 year max contract. But AD probably wouldn't want that. He would take a 2+1 so he can get his 10 years of service and then get the 35%.

Again, there would be no issues with money, contracts, etc. Be it immediately or down the line. That would not even be a small issue.

I was just trying to get the math to work. I'm still a bit lost on it and where this is the room. If they wait till after the draft, does the pick's contract count against the cap? I'm guessing if it's the first pick, that would be about 8M (that is what Ayton is getting). So this is where I'm at. Tell me where I am wrong.

If they do not pick up Mudiay's option, that gives them 6 players under contract. If you add the first round pick, that gives them 7 players for 39M. 3 cap holds at 800K equals 2.4M. So that is 10 spots for a bit under 42M. If the cap is 109M next season, that leaves 67M. So two max players can split that at about 33M a piece. Is that right?

KD's max will be bigger than Kyrie's because he has 10+ years of service. But yes, Zion would count against the cap even though he won't have officially signed yet. It will essentially act as a cap hold

Long story short, they will have enough cap space to sign those guys and then they only need to send out about 21 million and change to bring AD and his 27 million back. That is another place you seem to be getting confused. Don't count AD as 27. Imagine that they need 21.5 (including Zion's salary) to get AD.

Hope that helps. But even if you don't fully understand...trust me, it wouldn't be difficult at all.

I hate being the team that helps to create a super team, but....I really love the Knicks deal if it pans out and would be best long term for the franchise. Plus, The super team would be in the East so who cares!! I think it is hilarious how people don't understand 3 things...

1.KD wants to get a huge contract(check knicks can offer that) and he wants to be the head dog on the team.
2.Kyrie wants to play with vets, but still compete for championships and Knicks provide that with AD and KD. Plus he gets paid huge and in a big market.
3.AD will go deep in the playoffs in his first year and maybe wins a title. He has never done that and does he throw all that away to maybe get there in the West with Lakers(no way). He also will be paid long term big money.

Side note- Don't you think Klutch would love it having their two biggest clients in the two largest markets? Can you talk about money from sponsors!

The only issue would be Knicks paying a huge tax bill, but I bet they care less bc the money coming in would cover that aka Golden State now.

A Kyrie, KD and AD big three would possibly be the most talented big three ever assembled. All with pretty complimentary skill sets too
