I mean seriously you are basically benching Carl Landry because you feel he is in a slump or not putting forth the effort on defense. I thought the old analogy is you have to play through a slump. To me it seems Okafor and Kaman have been struggling so why not try using a tandem of Landry and Ayon!!

But he keeps Belinelli in the game no matter what!! We need Xavier and Gorden back asap. I mean again he makes one that is right one shot tonight but is allowed to keep shooting. He gives up 10 points to Tony Allen who can't hit a brick wall and just runs around the court throwing errand passes and fouling people in the head or letting the person he is defending go off it seems especially in crucial situations. So he works up a sweat and goes to the bench at every time out looking for teammates to slap his hand to give him a good job!!

So Monty why not bench him??? Shoot we can't do much worse with Trey Johnson or Squeaky in the game!!!

i agree. benching carl landry is stupid. if we are tanking, why play jack and ariza 40 minutes and aminu none?

Monte is trying to win games IMO. He's not tanking.

The Lakers have two first round picks and an 8.9 million trade exception (Odom trade.) This seems like a pretty good fit for Landry's contract (8.5 million.)

Landry fits on the floor very well with either Gasol or Bynum.

I agree. what i was saying is that if we were tanking, the minute allocation doesn't make sense. but if we are trying to win games, doesn't playing carl more give us the best chance? we probably won't trade carl til the deadline anyway if that's the game plan.

He's not eligible to be traded until March 1st, I was just making a casual observation with the way Ayon has been playing and given the fact that Smith is starting over Landry at this time.

he did the same thing with Marcus Thornton. every other coach in the NBA would kill to have a player like Thornton on their roster, but not Monty.

I think Monty has the potential to be a very good coach. I think he knows the game, and I like his emphasis on defense. But the guy needs to be more flexible and adapt to whatever talent he has on his team. I think it's going to take a very specific roster for Monty to win a championship.

Monty isn't tanking on purpose. He wants to win and he truly believes in his heart that Jason Smith gives his team the best chance. It is scary. I have known this for a while, but the fans will soon start to recognize he is Byron Scott all over again.

Dude, I would jump at the higher of those picks for Landry, especially with Ayon emerging a legit NBA forward.
