I follow The Fletch solely to see how outrageously idiotic he can be. I'd imagine almost half of his followers do the same.

The quote about quality tweets being overrated was spot on. People like fun, even if the fun is being infuriated in the right way.

Also, I see people pull quotes from his new feed who complained about him running Hornets247's feed. I think the reason for this is as stated above.

The real reason is so that Joe or someone else isn't misquoted or asked about saying X when that person didn't say it and may not agree with it. No real issue until Joe was being interviewed more.

That's one reason journals were removed: misattribution.
