I know this is the modern NBA and over reliance on the three point shot is the norm, but teams are too reliant on it. How many of those missed threes could be made 2's if there were a few more passes with guys trying to penetrate closer in.

A missed three rebound has more of a chance for the defense.

Did you notice how we would penetrate and could do nothing at the rim b/c there were 3-4 defenders always hanging around the rim, especially a 7 footer ready to jump straight up and challenge the shot?
DId you notice how we kept kicking the ball out to he 3 point line to guys that can't make 3's, or wouldn't even attempt them even though they were wide open?
Did you notice that we kicked it out to the guy that's supposed to hit 3's in CJ, and he literally passed up a wide arse open 3 pointer late in 3rd quarter so BI could take a contested 3 pointer?

This team has no offense b/c no defense respects their 3 point shooting other than Trey. I went to the game last night. Wagner followed Trey around everywhere he went. Everyone else was just hanging around the paint and making sure we weren't getting to the rim uncontested.

CJ has shot 31% from 3 in his last 18 games. He was 41% in the previous 37 games to start the season. There's obviously something going on with his thumb, but hey, at least he's sucking it up and playing.

You got that backwards big cat. Missed threes often create long rebound chances, which can favor the offense if they actually give a shite. It also can create fast break opportunities when the defense gets those long rebounds.

Brutal outside shooting, possibly the worst 3 game stretch I've seen out of an NBA team in years, and I watch alot of games. Who did management think besides CJ and Trey would actually be competent from 3? Jones shoots airballs out there, Naji can't shoot, etc.

We're basically the early season Lakers.

Two good players and a bunch of dudes who can't hit the side of a barn.

7 footers are not a new development. I'm not against the three point shot, but I notice the over reliance on them even in fast break opportunities when the smart move is to take it to the basket.

You don't have to go for lay ups or close range shots, but medium range jump shots after working the ball could work....but you need a good point guard for that. Someone like a Stockton or a Chris Paul who can penetrate and see the open guy.

But saying you have to rely on the three point because defenders are packing in and there is a big guy that might be able to jump is lazy thinking.

This. Also, I feel like it's lazy basketball. Chucking up threes takes less energy than driving to the basket.
