Here is my big board for the big men. I went ahead and included guys that will be gone by the time the Pelicans pick.

Let me say, I still ranked him pretty high, but I wouldn’t touch Wiseman with a 10 ft pole.

That list should just prove to people how important playing college ball can be. Wiseman was a sure fire 1st or 2nd pick. Now he is slipping cause of off court issues. Okungwu has vaulted from late 1st or 2nd round to top big, off one partial season.

Sports is a "what have you done lately? " industry.

It’s impossible to know how he would have progressed if he had played more than 3 games, but I have to be honest I wasn’t impressed with Wiseman at all.

Good athlete, so yes he runs the floor well, gets off the ground well, good body and lower body strength, etc etc. He will catch lobs, he will rebound, he will block shots, but he has no offensive game to speak of, doesn’t move well laterally (heavy feet, so he can’t defend in space, struggles to defend the perimeter, PnR, etc) and has a low basketball IQ, which is why he’s consistently late on rotations, isn’t a good team defender, etc etc.

Some people are making it seem like he could be available when we pick. I read a few things saying that most team boards look nothing like internet boards who have Wiseman, Ball and Edwards as near locks for the top 3. I don’t doubt Edwards going 1.1, but he is without a doubt a bust.

I don’t doubt seeing some fan favorites at 13 end up being top 5 guys.

I’ve seen some of the same. It wouldn’t surprise me. You may see teams take more guaranteed guys because of the weaknesses in this draft.

It’s really all over the place. I also read that some teams consider Patrick Williams as the top prospect in the draft

I like Williams less than most. I think he’s got some intriguing skills, but that’s totally dependent on what you view him as.

I think he lacks the lateral quickness and would need to improve his guard skills a bit to be considered a wing, and at 6’8” with a 6’11” wingspan I’m not sure about his fit inside.

I also think he’s kind of robotic and stiff, and I’m never the biggest fans of those kinds of guys. Maybe Aminu ruined it for me lol

I wonder what makes Nick Richards from Kentucky someone that might not even get drafted. I guess he's very similar to Kavell Bigby Williams. Dominant defenders in college but for some reason they aren't/weren't highly thought of as good pro prospects.

Got to see him against LSU and he made all the difference in the world when he was on the court b/c of his defense.
