I need to listen to them some more. They're at Louder Than Life the night I'm going. Haven't been able to get into them, yet.

Nice. You're lucky. I wish I could see that tour. Not sure I can make it to Kentucky at that time.

I can listen to all of Judas Priest. I prefer the early stuff. In my opinion, I think Screaming for Vengeance is their best album.

I have almost all the albums but still prefer Iron Maiden.

Priest does have some kickass stuff and really inspired generations especially from a metal vocal standpoint.

Seeing them redefine themselves with the intensity and technicality of Painkiller 16 years after their first album really cemented their legacy and longevity as one of the true Metal Gods (pun intended).

Same. Iron Maiden is one of my favorite bands. I could listen to their entire discography on loop mode 24/7.

Yep. Rob is one of the best.

Metal Gods!

Priest is my favorite metal band ( Sabbath a close second) ... if you start at Sad Wings of Destiny through Defenders of the Faith you really are looking at 8 stright releases that are master pieces ( point of entry would be my least favorite by still a very strong album)

Not a fan of Turbo or Ram It Down ,but then they came in with Painkiller which is sick . The Ripper albums arent bad and the rest of Halford up to current is all good .Nostradamus is the only later Priest album that i dont dig ...too long

They brought this exact show to Baton Rouge in February, 1983 and it was damn glorious.

Live Vengeance full concert

Love Sabbath too. Not a fan of Turbo or Ram it Down either. I agree about Painkiller. The media kind-of screwed Painkiller. It got very little radio play if any at all because at that time, the grunge era just started. It didn't even make the top 30. I thought it was a great album.

yes .agree .Priest made Painkiller to go fit in with the thrash scene that was happening at the time . Good news is today grunge is gone ..hair metal is all but gone and real metal still thrives

When I graduated boot camp in 1984 I went to the PX to buy Screaming for Vengeance on cassette. Listened to it on a Sony Walkman all the way home!

its heavy ,but the guitar work from KK and Glenn is still top notch and Scott Travis is a machine on the drums in Painkiller . But , maybe too heavy for you . Universally it is accepted as a top 5 album in their catalog
